Three things I learned today about Hive

avatar

As a new hive user, I am always learning new things about the Hive Platform. I believe it is important to learn something new everyday no matter what it may be. Hopefully one of these three things will be new for you.

First - In PeakD, I noticed a number next to my name and wondered why it kept changing and what it was used for.

Well, I did some exploring and found some information. This number next to your name is your reputation score and lets others understand your value on the platform. For new users it starts out at 25 and can go up or down based on your actions on the Hive platform.

Second - @Hivebuzz provides a ranking of all users on Hive. You input your user name in the upper right search box. Your reputation score and lots of other stats are listed for your reference. I noticed my rep score on PeakD has increased from what is reflected on the site so there is a little lag time between ranking updates.

Third - @Hivebuzz provides a list of badges that you can earn from various activities. When you are on Hivebuzz and click on the rank icon next to your user name it will take you to a screen with lots of information about badges.
However, the last tab provides a Tour to help you take steps to get more familiar with the Hive platform. I had created an introduction post however I did not include the correct tag for it to count. I will be rewriting that post and use the correct tag in the near future.

I look forward to what I will be learning tomorrow.

Ever Forward!!

FYI the reputation number was “gamed” extensively of the old chain. At least a few accounts with very high reputation numbers actually have bad reputations in the Hive community.
