I've been called many things....

I've been called many things in my seven decades of life.... baby... girl... four-eyes... skinny.... hippy.... woman.. wife.. mother... entrepreneur... a P.I.T.A. ... but I think the only name that really gets my hackles up (see what I am doing here?) is being called a Crazy Cat Lady... why is no one ever called a Crazy Dog Lady.. or Crazy Cat Guy... or Crazy Dog Guy?

Seriously, I had cats before I had a husband or kids... all were warned that the cats were there first and they'd better be nice to them... Fortunately, both my husbands have adored cats (you think I would have dated them, let alone married them if they didn't?) And both my daughters have gone in cat rescue like me..

I'm thinking it must be in the genes... it takes time, money and dedication to rescue the unwanted, the unloved and the abused felines of the world.... We know we can't save them all but for the ones we can, it can mean a whole new way of life... Not having litter after litter of kits who may or may not survive... not scrounging for food in garbage... not being chased, shot or run down.... Most rescuers I know deny the "crazy cat lady" syndrome although I think a few of them wear the title proudly...

There are even many T-shirt variations on the "crazy cat lady" theme... but my newest shirt denies that... and I have to proudly share my certification.... lol....
