A morning walk on the beach at sunrise

A morning walk on the beach at sunrise

This post will cover a couple of challenges
Beautiful Sunday By @ace108,
The beautiful part of the post is a walk on the beach in the early morning

and
Sublime Sunday, created by @c0ff33a,
Sublime because of the lovely subtle colors of nature on the morning I took these photos

I do believe these shots were taken last Sunday but I could be wrong but I don't think the guidelines for either of these challenges say the photos have to be taken on a Sunday so it should all be OK :)

They were all taken from starting around 5Am when I headed to Walnut Beach and Silver Sands State Park for a morning walk, Starting with this shot looking down the beach at the pier

I guess this is also a response to the challenge or request for me to get my act together and edit some of the shots I took of the sunrise this morning from @johannpiber

This next shot is taken a little later while standing on the other side of the pier in the first shot, and you may notice not a person is in shot in either of these shots, when I first got to the beach I was the only one there and I love the peace and quite when that happens

This next shot is a little further down the beach and I loved the glow reflected in the pool of water left behind at low tide

Now I am on the boardwalk beside Silver Sands State Park, that morning I walked back and forth along the beach and boardwalk a few times passing the .3 Mile Marker a few times

And this is at the far end of the park and as far as I walked along the beach that morning, About an hour and a quarter after my first shot, and one of the most refreshing hours I have spent for a while with the peace and tranquility being on the beach

And that’s all folks

Beautiful sunrise. I have often wanted to go up that way to Connecticut. I have been to New York City twice and upstate New York when I was a kid camping, yet I don't ever remember being in Connecticut.

So, you want me to be honest, JJ?

Honestly, at first sight of these sunrise photos I thought, that I want to post some other photos tonight, but not the next photos of the sunset I posted yesterday.
I wanted to post just something else, completely different from sunrises or sunsets - maybe the little alien I found the other day

Enough joking, now seriously:

Apart from the fact, that all photos are great in color and composing, I like the second one most. The sand ripples at the beach, illuminated by the sunrise, and the beautiful clouds, both lead to the sunrise at the horizon. The clouds even form the shape of an arrow. I also like the fourth photo most, where the clouds make the same curve as the boardwalk does.
But all are so very good, and I would love to have such a beach near my home. You were so lucky to be alone and also the first one there, because I cannot see any disturbing footsteps ;)

Thank you for posting the photos today - now my waiting has an end, because I really thought, I might have to wait til winter 😉

LOL well first off I am glad I did not make you wait till winter, and thanks for your feedback, although I do think you are being far too kind

That little alien bug is awesome never seen something like that

avatar

I know, I am too kind, but what can I say? You asked me to be honest, didn't you?

This little bug, or whatever it is, didn't want to get photographed and always tried hide behind that stem. This is the only somehow sharp photo I could take of it, and I have no idea, what it is :)

I wish I could help with identifying the bug but I have trouble telling the difference between a Ladybug and a butterfly lOL

Thanks again for your kind feedback so appreciated

You're welcome JJ :)

The Ladybug is the one in black with the red dots ...

Source: Wikipedia<

... or was it red with black dots? LOL

I don't think, I will post this ugly little thing - maybe if I see another one, of which I can get better photos, but I don't think so, because it is soo small, and I wonder, how I could even see it ;)

Ohh so that’s a ladybug funny thing is I thought they were more bug shaped like 🐞
Where would I be without you helping to edumacate me 😂

0

avatar

Yeah, you must know, that here in the old world, we have very good schools, which are free by the way, where we get edumacated very well ;) lol
And because I am a very nice person, I always like to help the underedumacated, if needed 😊

I have never heard that word, but I love it ;)

Edumacate; An uneducated way people, including Redneck's, Hill-Billy's and Feral people use in place of the word Education to sound smarter than they may be.
Source: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=edumacate

avatar

Dang that word exists I thought i had made it up when I joke about education, my Bubble is burst I must have heard it before and stole it

Back in NZ educations is also free and I did fairly well, although i never made it to University, more because i was bored with school and wanted to work, I was nagged by Family and Teachers to go to Uni but I said I would take a one year break to work and then head to University and the one year just dragged on for 43 Years LOL

0

0.000
avatar

First I thought, it was a strange typo, then I googled the word and found it ;) LOL

I haven't been to the University either. I didn't like school, I didn't like to learn, although I learned fast and easy, but I didn't like it, and I didn't want to leave my home. Then I went to the army (the 8 months basic military service we have to absolve), and never returned home, but I didn't move far away ;)

0

0.000
avatar

I didnt like school either i liked the sport but found the classes boring even though I always did well in the exams, thats the good side of having a very high IQ I didnt have to work hard at school, and i know I would have cruised through University easy, but it would have bored me and who know what trouble i would have got into I worked one job for a year, but that was not the job for me and then joined the army and stayed with it for 12 Years before applying for and joining the UN, but where i am different is a move far far away

0

I could never have moved so far away from my home. I like holidays, but after a few days I long for home, and I need to visit my parent's house as often as I can.

0

0.000
avatar

I would have said the same but when I joined the army I wasn’t far away but then I did 3 years in Singapore and the travel bug bit i guess

0

... and you got used of it, I think. The longest time I was away from home, was about 3 months, when I travelled through Europe after the army in the age of 18.

Hopefully before to long will start looking at the property market where the kids and grandkids are

OK, I had thought, for some reason you decided to stay where you are now.

The plan is to move about 2 hours or so away to the area where they live even colder than here in winter but will be able to see the grandkids more often 👍😎👍

avatar

I wonder, when I will be a grandfather - my kids both say that they don't want to have their own children, but we'll see, because it takes two ;)

You will have much fun then, your walks (in these freezing winter) will become more entertaining, and maybe you can teach them photographing :)

The youngest our granddaughter got one of the new Polaroid type little cameras and wants ot go on photo walks with me so thats part of my plan, In Winter i am not sure how much I will get out but I need to get some steps in each day so I will find a way :)

The Polaroid is a good beginning, and it's cool, that she can see her photo on paper.
I like to walk on cold Winter days, warmly dressed from the feet to my head, and when it's snowing I like it even more 😆

I to like walking on Winter days, just nowadays I don’t trek off the cleared paths to often MY feet really feel the cold these days LOL

Ohh she loves it and i am sure when I see her in a couple of weeks she willl give me that adorable smile a hug and then ask for some more film packs lOL

0

avatar

I have thought of buying Snowshoes for next Winter. Then I can be quite sure to be alone and get shots, which no one has ;)

My niece has got such a Polaroid camera last christmas. It looks good and the photos are nice like in the old days, but the film packs are quite expensive, so that you have to think before photograph, if it is worth it - just like in the old times ;)
It would be good, if they had also a SD slot and you could choose, if you want a print, or safe the image on the card.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Snowshoes would be cool to get to places very few people get to for sure

Your idea of the kids Polaroid with theSD card slot is a brilliant one , well for the parents ot save money, not so much for the company who probably make a mint selling the films

0
0
0.000
avatar

Bu tI don't think, the kids would switch to SD mode, as long as there is a film in the camera :)
But you are right, that this might even be the reason that there's no card slot, because when I imagine the size of my niece's camera there would be enough space I think.

0
0
0.000
avatar

YEs thats true for most kids they would want the instant photo and not just to look at it later on a device or computer and with my Granddaughters as well here would be enough space for 10 SD cards or even an SSD drive LOL

Good morning @tattoodjay, your photography is absolutely gorgeous, as always. I was at the Jersey shore last week and nearly every morning I was on the beach between 5-6 am. I so enjoy the peace I find walking the beach alone, I tend to marvel at the beauty I see, then find myself thanking God for all the blessings I have enjoyed throughout my life. I think I'm gonna follow your lead with the combo #beautifulsunday @ace108, and #sublimesunday @cOff33a. Just got in from a walk around the farm, took some pics and picked some #fruitandvegtables

A nice walk with nice result. I thought the photos would be able to tell you when it was taken. No, the activity does not need to be a Sunday (though no saying that won't change in future) but the post have to be on Sunday. So, I cut off around 2359h in Honolulu time which I think is the latest convenient time zone.
