Hive Minds Unleashed: STEMvolution and Diversity in Our Hive

Hey, busy Hivers!

Care for a wild ride of STEM, diversity, and a sprinkle of that Hive magic?

So, there's one event by IE Europe on "Diversity in STEM for a Transformative Future" happening tomorrow, and I couldn't help but wonder, why do companies act like they've just discovered the secret sauce with diversity and inclusion?

Here are just a few minimal ideas about the PROs in Hive!

STEM: The Real MVP
First off, STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We all know it's the superhero of innovation. But seriously, do we need a one-hour event to tell us that? Apparently, companies do. They're all about "harnessing the full potential" of STEM. I'm here thinking, isn't that the whole point of STEM? It's like saying, "Let's have a workshop on breathing for a healthier life."

The IE Alumni Showdown
Now, they've got these IE Alumni, Yasmin Romdhane and Niccolo Matteo Borgato, working the Cloud at NetApp and BIP, respectively. Cool jobs, but do we really need a panel to hear about their experiences? I mean, sure, share the secrets of the Cloud universe, but I bet Hive users could teach a thing or two about decentralized awesomeness.

Hive vs. Corporate Diversity
Let's talk about diversity and inclusion. Companies make it sound like they've discovered a rare species when they talk about fostering a "more diverse and inclusive STEM culture." Meanwhile, we're here on the Hive, where diversity is not a corporate program but a way of life. No need for a company to tell us to play nice with folks from different backgrounds. We're already doing it!

IE Talent & Careers: Bridging What Gap?
Then, there's Dorine Setakwe, the Associate Director at IE Talent & Careers, sharing market insights and introducing tools. Tools for what? Last time I checked, we Hivers were doing just fine without an official "toolkit." We thrive on adaptability, not some predefined set of tools.

Hive Blockchain: The True MVP
As the event goes into the Q&A session, I can't help but wonder if those corporate folks ever ponder on the inherent diversity within our Hive. Our community is like a buffet of ideas, where meritocracy reigns supreme. Ideas matter more than ticking off diversity checkboxes. It's not about predefined programs, is it? :D I think it should always be about KAIZEN, the freedom to contribute, no matter where you're from, collaborate and build together.

There we go! Hive Thrives Beyond Corporate Boundaries
So, in conclusion, this IE Europe event might be onto something, but we Hivers already know the drill. Thriving with STEM doesn't mean shapping and reshapping yourself for fitting into corporate structures... We are meant for freedom, for unleashing our creative, collaborative, and downright ingenious selves. While those corporate folks are busy with their formalities, we're here shaping a future that laughs in the face of traditional boundaries and embraces the true spirit of diversity and inclusion – Hive style!

Thanks for reading!
With respect,
Zpek
