Information could get you rekt...

There's this cliche phrase that has been used and overused but still maintains its value - INFORMATION IS KEY.

However, in these times where we have a lot of information, too much information, in fact, it begs the question - WHAT INFORMATION IS KEY?

Everywhere we look, we hear, read and see some "valuable" information that could change our lives and if we aren't careful, we could end up falling for a scheme set for hungry information seekers.

My mother fell for one of those schemes a few months ago. I'm proud of her, as a Nigerian mother of over 60 years, she's always in search of information to make sense to the world she has found herself in.

She loves to cook, which explains why I can't cook half as good as she can, she feeds me so why bother learning? Anyways, she found herself searching for kitchen recipes and the likes when she saw a Whatsapp group invite and found herself in the hands of hackers who gained access to her WhatsApp contacts and began some low-budget message scam.

I eventually fixed the issue, but this is only an instance of what happens when you search for information without the proper information. I guess that's one way to explain my point.

A lot of people find themselves in situations where they seem like they are gathering valuable information, however, they're just as ignorant as the next person with absolutely no information.

This includes a lot of people who claim to be 'crypto experts'. There are few opinions that matter to me where crypto is concerned and most of these pieces of information are hardly based on social media trends. Well, recently at least.

While I find it difficult to bank on people's information, I find it even more difficult to bank on information from celebrities. As much as I don't consider the background story of if this person knows what's happening or not, I just believe everything about them is strictly for publicity and money.

I believe this is true because if I were in their shoes, I would probably be all about that life. Would I endorse a shitcoin just because the people behind it pay me a few thousand dollars? Yes! Let's face it, a lot of people would do the same.

I mean imagine if a single Tweet could get you $50,000 or even less. We'd all be endorsing shitcoins and smiling with different t-shirts every week just for the fun of it.

Being judgemental is fun, however, in the grand scheme of things, we're mostly intrinsically the same.

While it's great to gather information like Kim Kardashian endorsed this coin, so it has to be legit, you need to ask yourself - IS SHE THE RIGHT AUTHORITY TO LISTEN TO ON THIS MATTER???

A skincare product, yes, I could buy into that, but crypto? How fast do you really want to get rekt?

Information is key, but know the right source to bank on.
