STV - "Who Wants To Live Forever?"

To answer the question in the title, not me! I was lucky enough to be here on this floating rock in space for quite some time, but forever is just a bit too much of a good thing, if you ask me.

Now remember you should never ask me, but just in case you were wondering, opened your mouth, put forward the question, there is your answer.

It´s Sunday Morning, and somehow that seems to be the best time of the week to answer philosophical questions; Probably because I am sober and not thinking about work too much.

Let´s spread some immortal vibes today!

Where does whywhy come up with these crazy Spread The Vibes topics and is he gonna stick to the rules this time, because the MP (Music Police) is keeping a close eye on him?

Well let me explain, it all started with a song I saw on Youtube.... I am sure you heard it before, it´s from a couple of guys from a band originally called "Smile."

Freddie: “It's just a name, but it's very regal obviously, and it sounds splendid. It couldn’t have been King, it doesn't have the same ring or aura as Queen. It's a strong name, very universal and immediate. It had a lot of visual potential and was open to all sorts of interpretations. I was certainly aware of gay connotations, but that was just one facet of it.”

It was The song that made Highlander one of the best movies growing up!

That title drove me to dive into songs about eternity and dig up some great ones. I needed three awesome songs for my Tune Tune Train connection riddle.

Are there three other awesome songs about immortality?

I found plenty, one by a young lady with a shaven head singing about an ancient Greek city and a phoenix rising from a flame.

Another by a band that musically sounds as if you cloned Pink Floyd. And with a very typical band name, that sounds Dutch but actually was taken from an American physicist, the inventor of the Van de Graaff generator. Which was a type of high-voltage electrostatic generator that serves as a type of particle accelerator.

Both songs are absolute gems, but the biggest discovery was the third song. I consider myself pretty well reversed in the musical galaxy, but sometimes I amaze myself with my lack of knowledge.

In my epic quest to find three immortal songs other than the Highlander one, I found The Highwaymen.

Did you see some familiar faces, or did you hear voices?
These guys are famous, I mean Johnny Cash??? Willie Fluffing Nelson, Kris K who wrote Me & Bobby Mcgee, and a guy named Waylon Jennings (never heard of him, to be honest).

That song is just awesome, and looking up these guys taught me a lot about country music.

Hippy Yah Ho

Country and me....not a great match...but then there are some songs that I do like a whole damn lot. So I always thought that it was a kind of guilty pleasure and that country music was just country music.

Boy, am I glad I never ran into a Nashville redneck and stated that; Seemingly country is a lot broader than just country, and the country music I like seems to be a particular genre; Outlaw country.

I am no country purist, but this is my type of country:

Maybe that is too smooth to be Outlaw, but damns I love that song.

So went from Queen to the Scottish Highlands and ended up with a bunch of so-called Cowboys, and all because of immortality.

Immortality is a Curse

Living forever means losing forever, everything and everyone you ever loved will fade away before your eyes. If immortals have a heart it will be extremely heavy from all the burdens they encounter on their never-ending travels.

One of my stories is about how even god got tired of living forever and chose to make me his apprentice.

So in my opinion the answer to the question is; No one, not even god wants to live forever.

The ingenious bastard that developed the universe must have known that or figured it out along the way. It created a dilemma because the universe is neverending and so is all that is in it.

Energy can transform but is never lost, life is energy = any type of life lives forever. Hence we all live forever.

How does that rhyme with no one wanting to live forever? It´s simple do the man in black thing.

"Damn, what a gullible breed!"

We live forever, but we forget we every time. And maybe that is for the better, because you are never sure how your life will look next round....or if you are even reborn on this particular planet.

Like my dear Highwaymen said:

And I say they got the point, not saying that there is a point to life, although I made my point on that in a previous #STV post:

I hear voices

I hear alarm bells ringing in my head, it´s the music police coming for me, already. Guess they did not have the patience to read my story till the end, they are always out to get me.

But I will outsmart them once again, because there is a connection. A connection to a HIVE music post.

No it´s not my own this time, it´s by the musical genius that solved my riddle once again. The man you all hate, because it´s his fault I need to come up with those hard-ass riddles that nobody is able to solve.

He riddle´s faster than his shadow and I am sure he did not need the Highlander hint to solve this week's Tune Tune Train connection. I am sure you all know who that is, the infamous @jasperdick .

When I saw his upvote on that Three Tunes Tuesday morning I knew he had the answer and he delivered it a few minutes later.

Jasper impressed me before, but today he kept impressing me. Not only did he solve the riddle in no time (next week I will need to come up with a hard one again) but his version of Highwayman was even more impressive:

Talking about a job well done....

Sometimes things do not have to be that complicated, simple things are the biggest miracles in this neverending life, probably because living forever is already complicated enough.
