I used to love Dire Straights when I was little, and I forgot I did but this song brought it all back. Their songs are still such gems, and the best thing you don´t hear them all the time anymore.
Not sure if this is my absolute favorite, but it´s definitely a top 3 song and a long one.
Dire Straits - Private Investigations
They are no Dire Straits, but what an epic track is this! I don´t think I need to explain why, and it´s not just that piano, lol.
Jacob Lee - Demons
Yes I played them last week and they are back again, maybe it´s the long song feeling. Maybe it´s just because like Dire Straits they make those awesome songs.
HAEVN & Neco Novellas - Trade It For The Night (Live in Carré)
Okay not another long song, but yet another gem. A Belgium Gem, A gem that has been around since 2009 and I never heard of him till I came across this song this week.
And I already planned to listen more from the King Of Nowhere while writing this weekend.

While we are on the subject of true Gems look what I found, this was my find of the week. I am not a huge 3 Doors Down fan, and I recognized the voice but I was like ....... seriously this song...those guys???

Did you also notice I said was the find of the week, because I found a song that trumped it.....by miles.
Great lyrics and Bombastic built up, yup yours truly is hooked!

They are probably the first good thing coming from Jacksonville and these guys have been here for 23 years, but not in my ears.

This intro has that same mysterious feel as Private Investigations, a very different song with a very similar feel
Badflower - The Jester
Every story needs a good villain, and so does this trip. This is a band I knew before and I only clicked on their song back then due to the band name. I think they fit pretty prefect in this set tonight, before going out with a bang!
Yes, they sound like Linkin Park, but I can use some of that with Chester gone.
Villain of the Story - Peace of Mind
I promised you a bang and I will deliver you a bang, not hitting you in the face, but on the ears with these guys.
Yes, guys again, I made it, I made an all-guy show and still filled it with crazy gems.
There is a bit of an SOAD feel in this one if you would ask me, Dear Reader. But as you don´t ask let me tell you.

Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found.
My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten.
Who the fluff am I?
Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years...Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.

And I liked this Badstory Jester.
King of nowhere indeed was a great find and my other favorite was Shinedown but yes I think you were right with that melody theme it's what I think I look for in whatever genre
