Warmth

My toes feel numb with chills not from tight cluttered room with little ventilation. The only window in the room was dimly lit with a shabby brown curtain that pleaded for a wash. It smelt of damp books and dust like the library but lacked its quietness.

Tack! tack! tack! The sounds of a flickering old ceiling fan pervaded my thoughts amidst the vows exchanged by couples who clearly loved each other.
I began to tap my feet unconsciously to the rush of thoughts that flooded my mind ‘Are you sure about this?’
By reflex my arms came to my thighs to calm it's body’s agitation.

‘YOU LOOK GORGEOUS!’
A voice so deep and mesmerizing yet familiar gave a rush of calm and a blush on my cheeks. I felt his touch. My gaze followed his large strong palm that covered mine, transferring warmth to all regions of my body that spelt chills. I looked at the man I said yes to when he got on one knee at the beach asking me so lovingly with glistening eyes to marry him.

His sparkling eyes with a duchenne smile, which spoke volumes that words could not portray. I knew why I was doing this and why it was the best decision I ever made.
I am my best self with him with a love so mutual, that his begs to overthrow mine.

With teary eyes and resounding laughter the room I signed the contract.
I am his and he is mine till the end of time.
