Friends, of this beautiful community, I come with an emergency we had with our pet Max, to put you in context, we went to visit my in-laws, the weekend, they at home has 3 cats and a dog.
He already plays with them more, and has become part of the family, but one of the cats, gave him a scratch on his right eye. At that moment I only heard Max's squeak and saw him with a teary eye.
I checked him over, and I had only seen that he had a teary eye, I had washed his face.
That day we were going back home, but it was too late to go to the vet, Max's behavior was that he was not blinking well and he just wanted to be calm, he spent the whole night sleeping, the next day he ate, went out to the parking lot and played a little, but he still had the discomfort, but he opened his eye more.
But when I got ready to see his eye with more details, I lit him with the flashlight of my phone, I realized that he had a blood streak in his eye, then I got more worried and I didn't wait to go to the vet to see what it was.
When I arrived at the vet's office I had to wait a long time for the consultation, when I went in I gave all the details to the doctor, she examined him, I went directly and asked her if he would lose his eye and she said no, because he has reflexes, and she sent him a treatment that consists of some drops, she gave me a prescription with the indications.
That is 2 drops in the eye 3 times a day and also to wash the eye twice a day with 0.9% sodium chloride water and we are giving him this treatment, which is to reduce the inflammation of the eye and to remove the blood that he has there.
Max, for now he is fine, he is no longer teary and has no discomfort and the streak has been dissipating more, all this was sent for 8 days and we have to see how this progresses, if it improves he will be fine, if not, the doctor will refer me to a veterinarian ophthalmologist to check his eye.
I will be letting you know how Max's progress is going as the days go by.
Hola amigos de esta gran comunidad de @hivepets, espero que se encuentren muy bien.
Amigos, de esta hermosa comunidad, vengo con una emergencia que tuvimos con nuestra mascota Max, para ponerlos en contexto, fuimos a visitar a mis suegros, el fin de semana, ellos en casa tiene 3 gatos y una perra.
Ya más juega con ellos, y se ha hecho parte de la familia, pero una de las gatas, le dio un rasguño en el ojo derecho. En ese momento solo escuché el chillido de Max y lo vio con el ojito lloroso.
Allí lo que hice fue revisarle por encima, y solo le había visto que lo tenía lloroso, le había lavado la cara.
Ese día nos regresábamos a la casa, pero ya era tarde para ir a un veterinario, el comportamiento de Max era que no estaba parpadeando bien y solo quería estar tranquilo, paso toda la noche durmiendo, al día siguiente comió, salió al estacionamiento jugó un poco, pero aún tenía la molestia, pero ya abría más el ojito.
Pero cuando me dispuse para verle con más detalles el ojo, le alumbre con la linterna de mi teléfono, me di cuenta de que tenía una rayita de sangre en el ojo, allí me preocupé más y no esperé en irme al veterinario para ver qué era.
Al llegar al veterinario duré mucho para qué me tocará la consulta, cuando entre le di todos los detalles a la doctora, lo examinó, yo fui directo y le pregunté si perdería el ojo y me dijo que no, porque tiene reflejos, y le mando un tratamiento que son unas gotas, me hizo el récipe con las indicaciones.
Que son 2 gotas en el ojo afectando 3 veces al día y también lavarle el ojo dos veces al día con agua cloruro de sodio al 0.9% y bueno estamos dándole ese tratamiento, que es para desinflamar el ojito y poder sacarle la sangre que tiene allí.
Max, por ahora está bien, ya no lo tiene lloroso y no tiene molestia y se le ha estado disipando más la rayita, todo esto se lo mandaron por 8 días y tenemos que ver cómo avanza esto, si mejora estará bien, si no, la doctora me indicara con un médico veterinario oftalmólogo para que le revise el ojo.
Les estaré avisando cómo va el progreso de Max en transcurso de los días.
