Beauty perishes in life but is immortal in art

Leonardo Da Vinci

Hello architecture and design community, nice to greet you and wish you a happy and blessed start of the week. On this occasion I share with you my visit to Plaza Bolivar in the city of Caracas, Venezuela. Caracas, capital of Venezuela, is one of the most important metropolis in Latin America, where the public powers of the state are concentrated and a large number of people, companies and factories develop their activities in this dynamic city.

Visiting Caracas is an exciting, fun and satisfying experience, walking the streets of Caracas and observing its buildings of different styles of construction among others take the visitor to live and remember ancient times mixed with modernity. It is worth mentioning that there is a great variety of buildings in this city of different colors, different designs that are mixed in an active city.

In addition to the large buildings the city also has countless squares and the main square of the city is the Plaza Bolivar, which pays tribute to the Liberator Simon Bolivar, who incidentally was born in Caracas, on July 24, 1783. The Plaza Simon Bolivar, has benches, walkways, vegetation and is located in a central area, in fact around the square you can see several buildings where they operate headquarters and government offices, theaters, among others, is a meeting point for city dwellers and visitors.

The Plaza Simon Bolivar is also a place to rest after a tiring day. In this square is the statue of Simon Bolivar, mounted on his horse, the statue is black and the pedestal or base is covered with marble, at the base you can read on all four sides the inscriptions that identify and give specific characteristics of the liberator Simon Bolivar. In one of the plaques you can read his date of birth and his date of death which was in Colombia, December 17, 1830.

It also indicates when his remains were transferred to the capital city of Venezuela. On another of the plaques you can read the countries he liberated at the command of the patriot army in South America, where heroes from several South American countries participated. The countries that Simón Bolívar liberated were Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and the Republic of Bolivia was created in honor and gratitude to the great performance of the liberator Simón Bolívar in the battle that liberated these lands from Spanish rule.

This square is located in the historic center of the city in the Cathedral parish. It should be noted that the times I have visited the capital of the country has been very exciting because I can see a lot of buildings and architecture (modern and ancient) that are not in my town.
A design that caught my attention in this square was a white colored podium, made of reinforced concrete, with a coat of arms in the center, lateral stairs, black wrought iron railings, lighting posts with lantern style lamps. It also has the flags of the countries that Simón Bolívar liberated and a ceramic floor.

See you on the next tour
May God bless you

It is certainly a simply beautiful square. I have already heard a lot about this square and I have been to Caracas twice and on neither occasion have I had the opportunity to visit it. It is a place where I will be when I have the pleasure of going to Caracas again.
