Life, a beautiful gift that the Creator gives us so that we may live in love, humility, passion and harmony with our neighbors.

Hello community!!! Nice to greet you and wish you a happy and blessed weekend. It is a pleasure to be with you again after a period without posting for personal reasons. But as someone said the good and edifying things are long overdue.

Today I share with you two beautiful buildings that are located in the historic center of the first born of the American continent, Cumana, Venezuela. These houses have many stories to tell and feelings to express. The location of these houses allowed a point of convergence between local people and visitors from adjacent municipalities.

These buildings are family houses with approximately two hundred years of construction, which were initially built with mud and bamboo. But over the years they have suffered some damage due to constant earth movements since we live in an area of high seismic risk.
Although, in reality these houses have been repaired many times, they have always tried to preserve their original style or design.

After so much time, these houses functioned as commercial premises, in the yellow house there was a bakery very popular with locals and visitors, and in the blue house there was a bookstore well known for its wide variety of products and excellent prices.

To talk about these buildings is to talk about history, the house where the bakery was located was a point of reference in the city for the quality of services it offered, such as a very tasty ham bread, charcuterie, and I remember that they sold a very delicious slice of pizza and above all at a price that fit our pocket. This place was very busy because on the side there was a bus stop, both for urban routes as well as the routes of the adjacent municipalities such as the municipality Montes (Cumanacoa).

The commercial premises where the bakery operated, which for economic reasons the country closed its doors, has a one-story building or second floor, also has six high doors in the shape of a rectangle, three doors on each floor. The doors of the first floor are of wrought iron with two bars in the center, also of metal and with a design in the form of square in the superior part of this one. Something to highlight is that in the middle of the door where the metal grille is located, there is a wooden grille behind it.

The doors on the first floor are made of wood with a relief design in the shape of a rectangle and a balcony.

The blue house was very well known a long time ago because it was home to a very famous bookstore in the city, the Cervantes Bookstore, where you could find a variety of office products, books of any kind and even school supplies. It was a tradition to visit this place before the start of the school year as they placed offers on notebooks, pencils and all the materials needed to go to class. Many times my family and I went to this shopping place because of the quality of their products and the offers they regularly had for the general public. But it is sad since currently its doors are closed due to the economic situation of the country.

This building has very peculiar characteristics, it has a ground floor and a first floor, in addition, it has an ornamental cornice in the upper part of the front. The main façade is blue and white, with four glass windows with metal bars in the shape of a rectangle. The front door is wrought iron and something that caught my attention was the design on the first floor wall, rectangle and square superimposed on the wall.

Actually, this is an interesting building because it has lots of colors, but I was a little disturbed by the view of the poles and electrical cables around it @virgilio07

Hello, it is certainly very colorful but unfortunately it is surrounded by power lines and poles.

Hello friend @virgilio07, As you mentioned, although these houses are very old, it appears that they have been destroyed due to earthquakes. Even if new reforms are made, trying to maintain the old status quo brings more value. The blue building structure attracted the attention of the road.

Certainly my friend, the idea has always been to preserve the original design since it is located in the historic center of the city.

Thank you for your visit

Colourful geometric delight! The presence of large windows and doors makes structures look particularly grand!
