Honesty, Accepting Mistakes and Righteousness - lessons from childhood

Hello Everyone, Namaste 🙏☺️

source

How are you doing? Our childhood plays an essential role in how we are going to be in our life. Childhood builds our character, shapes our thoughts and physical appearance as well. As they say if childhood is just like a raw pot of clay and an artisan can shape it as whatever he likes. This is very important to understand. Aa a child we are vulnerable to outside world. We easily believe whatever we are said and whatever we witness. The perception of a child changes to quickly as does his habits. As childrens we are so gullible and so curious to know and explore new things.

As a result of this the learnings and skills we develop during childhood becomes part of our personality and lasts for lifetime. There are so many skills and qualities we absorb or imitate from our parents. For me among so many other things, the best one i would say is the habit of saying truth and avoiding lies. In my childhood i don't know how i had developed habit of lying. I used to lie a lot, although little lies which were most of the excuses. At one instance I forged my mother signature on my academic report because I scored less marks in the test. But I was scared of telling my mother. However, i was caught at instance when my sister found out the report card on my school bag. It was one hell of a moment for me. I was too scared. Then I was scolded too much by my mother but she also made me realise what I did was soo wrong. She take a promise from me to never do such things in future. Then she also told me that things would be just fine had i told the truth to my mother about it, she would not have felt that much bad as she felt for telling lie, hiding the truth and then going to the extent of forging.

It was a very heart warming and deep conversation whose true meaning i understood later in life. But on that day and at that instance i understood one thing that, telling lies and doing something wrong to cover the truth is actually more harmful than simply just a accepting the actions and telling the truth. This is something made a better human being. I had understood the human nature and behaviour of being trapped into our own lies. Very soon these little little becomes a habit and part of our personality. Hadn't I been caught that day, I would have comforted myself with my wrong actions, moreover i would have justified my wrong with impression of trickery and over smartness. And then i would have followed the same practice in future also.

The credit also goes to my mother who taught be this important lesson in very convincing way. Had see only taken it a act of my misdeed and acted only to punish me, i would get a bed impression. She understood that as a child it's important to make me understood the bigger picture and not let defend my faults, shortcomings and even failures as well. Now I am not ashamed of my failures or my limitations. I always follow the path of truth and even if I made a mistake i am always ready to accept it. No more fear of running away from my problems or fears. It's very interesting and moving thought when I look back how well my changed after that. Being honest and accepting our mistake is a quality I think we all should develop. This has changed my life completely and also my perception towards life. We are today in a world of perfection and we are told to be tough and adamant. But that doesn't define our character, we should be gentle and malleable. As humans we learn things from experiences. But the basics we develop and nurture in childhood will leave remarkable feat on our achievements and life as well.

honesty is a very important virtue that seems to be very rare these days. Big thanks to your mom for teaching you that important lesson, unfortunately for some of us we learned how to lie from a young age and have perfected the act of deceit over the years, although it does has its benefits sometimes

There is no harm in some innocent and beneficial lies. As being honest always doesn't taken in right spirit. In such circumstances I try to take a neutral stand. !PIZZA

Yeah definitely. It's become a part of my personality now. We all can develop such qualities with little efforts and discipline. Have a good day friend. !PIZZA
