Weekend Engagement - Best And Worst for Positive and Negative

Hello all, it's been a while since I've written a post for weekend engagement and I am back once again.

Today's prompt is with regards my best and worst personality traits and how they have affected me positively and negatively.

I will first discuss the two traits individually and then subsequently share on how they affected me positively and negatively.

The Best Trait - Friendly
For me this is one trait that is told to me by my friends. They like being around me and find me very approachable. If they would want someone over a meal, I am one of their top calling one to join them.

The Worst Trait - Unfriendly
Now you must be thinking, why do I have a best trait of friendly and a worst trait of unfriendly. While I can be a very friendly person, when in my unfriendly mode, I am not the person you want to interact with. I will usually respond with a lot of sacarsm or just totally walk away. And this unfriendliness is because I get very upset whenever I get taken advantage of and feel the one who did it to me does not deserve any good from me.

How does this affect me positively and negatively?

On the positive front, because of me being friendly, I have many friends and tend to have many meal gatherings and meet up with them where we enjoy the fellowship.

Such gatherings help to foster stronger friendship. We get to know people better and also share what bothers us. And I have to say, in such gatherings, I am able to get help on the things I need because someone in these gatherings have a contact that can help me. Take for example, in my last gathering, as I was discussing with my friend over bedroom flooring because I felt some of the laminate gap started to widen and when I step over, it sometimes grip onto my flesh. My friend immediately told me, he has a relative whom is a flooring specialist and can solve my problem. Another example of a positive effect was that, when I told my friends I was getting married, every single one at the dinner desk took up something to bless my wedding, one volunteered to be emcee, one told me my wedding invitation cards will be settled by her, one told me she will settle all the floral related decorations and the rest taking up other stuff from ushering to planning. I guess all these blessings and connection make me continue to want to build up this friendly trait because it really helps me alot and on my end I can also offer my contacts and share blessings to my friends as well.

Now on the negative impact which correlates to my unfriendliness. People whom take advantage of my goodness will get ignored by me or get a sacarstic reply from me if they try to say hi. This actually creates a barrier for stronger friendship between some of my friends. This is something I also have to work on. Instead of acting in that kind of manner which is not good, I need to find a way to either tell them in a nice way or just maintain a cordial relationship instead of a full 180 degree hostile front because who knows one day they can be of help to me.

This is really a good topic for reflection over a weekend. This reflection reminds me to always be friendly and there is no need for me to be hostile if I feel that people is taking advantage of me.
