What do you think about the existence of the essence of the human soul??

We as human beings are aware of the existence of our life ~ we simply feel that we are living. But are we really aware of our individual soul essence?? ~ could we really define something we cannot see beyond the physical body?? What does the soul of each of us look like?? We can only make philosophical assumptions based entirely on a diversity of spiritual sides.
