DSLR vs Smartphone?

Is there really a need for a professional camera these days considering the fact that a smart phone could be 4 times better than a regular DSLR?

I will always go for smartphones. I guess our generation is not yet ready for dlsr

It depends on what you're photographing. If you're a professional photographer, who would benefit from having a variety of lenses and lighting available, the DSLR is the camera for you. If you just need some pics for your blog, a cheap smartphone will do just fine.

It might also be important to note that you can get a really good used DSLR now for about 1/3 the price of a decent phone.
