Threads Improvements - A Feedback

(Edited)

LeoFinance is given to onboard the next-generation of Hivers to this ecosystem and retain them. The latter becomes very necessary because that is what counts for the active users per time. Hive communities have launched several onboarding programmes but many have failed in their inability to retain the users. Thanks that the LeoFinance Proposal had clearly included in its 5-point marketing agenda, how to retain the users that would be porting from web2 social media down here.

With a mission to onboard 9,615 new users. LeoFinance is using https://leofinance.io as the gateway with LeoInfra Hive Lite Account protocol. The Guerilla Marketing and Adoption Campaigns would have a special way of literally opening the mouths of new users in surprise as to how much value they can draw from a socialmedia they just joined.

So Far so Good...

LeoFinance intends to offer an unusually friendly, fast, rewarding and learning onboarding process for the prospective users. The designed onboarding flow is expected to guide users to download their private keys and then sign in and use other dApps using Hive Keychain, Hivesigner or Hive Authentication Service, etc.

From LeoInfra signup which creates a Hive account in 30 seconds tied to a Web2 social ID (like Twitter or Google) to prompting the new user to create first Thread, cast first Upvote, to leading the user to the rabbit hole of Hive is awesome. Very intelligent in the design is the the prompt for the new user to take a mini-course (10 minutes) to get acquainted with Hive in exchange for a few bucks of extra crypto. However, the productivity of all of that would be consummate on the user experience of Leofinance which would serve as a home for everything the user can do on Hive. This makes this feedback quite necessary.

LeoFinance UI/UX Feedback

The key improvements of LeoFinance that would catalyse the retention of new users, in my opinion are the ease to socialize viz: follow users, join communities, upload pictures, images, rethread, edit posts/threads, feed navigation, engagement tracking in leaderboard, content exposures and creation of contents. So glad that most of these aspects have been well fixed on LeoFinance with a few having glitches, especially with mobile version of LeoFinance. Below are discussed three main areas I think needs an immediate attention.

1. The Need for a Live Support Chat

@atma.love and I had a long time trying to troubleshoot glitches on his end bothering saving a post and accessing draft. The conversations started in this comment. The energy he had put in trying to use Leofinance was overwhelming but after several iterations, he could not still fix it. While I could do those operations on my end, I could sense the frustration that could have been from a new user who wants to get those things done after many trials with no success.

That is an example of what I mean with a Live Support chat as obtainable at Genesis League Goals website. I've had issues fixed there within minutes without having to go to Splinterlands discord. We all know how useful it would be to retain more conversations here than on Discord. The support chat could be used to raise bug-fix tickets for users.

2. What about a $LEO Tip Feature?

I was trying to $LEO rewards to winners of the leoglossary Puzzle Game I organized. The Leo Wallet was not active and I was thinking how cool it could be if I could simply tip the recent posts of those participants with LEO. PeakD and Ecency has this feature and it looks cool to distribute small amounts of tokens. There should be a threshold to avoid abuse. Some users with low Leo Power could want to reward a post with more $LEO tokens.

The new users coming from web2 social media may not really be worried about their wallet transactions yet, especially as it has to do with dealing with long keys. Simple tipping on the social front end could be agreat deal of ease.

3. Post Reward Beneficiary should be Fixed

I needed to set @hivepuzzle as a beneficiary of rewards on my last post. I did and after several unsuccessful attempts to submit the post, i discovered that adding the beneficiary was the hindrance and I removed. I think that is a glitch that should be fixed. Immediately I removed the beneficiary, the post got submitted.

As we ramp off to onboard 10k new users, retaining them is more important. The strength of the marketing strategies put forward by LeoFinance is soothing and that can even onboard more users than anticipated. However, let's remember that giving them a memorable social media experience would mean more than the crypto they would earn.

I sincerely thank Khal and the team of developers and marketing team for their ingenuity in transforming LeoFinance to where we are presently, and by extension transforming Hive, It's indeed a blend genius efforts.

Together, we can make LeoFinance better!

Nothing to forgive. i did put a laughing face at the end of the comment but it did not get shown after posting.

i noticenotice this happens often. The last character enteredentered is not recorded. Easy way is to add a spacespace after but easy to forget. One can look at pprevppreview to check before posting, but that should nonot be necessary.

Note all ththe odd words, repeated and extra characters in tthis comment. They are not typos but a longtime bug.

i dontdon't bother to attempt to correct them anymore unlesunless i need the characters as backspacing does notnot delete them all.

Imo. this is a priority bug to be fixed as itit makes for a horrible experience writing (and reading) on android
