I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #357 - Strategies for Reaching 600,000 HP - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Wednesday, July 19, 2023

I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in a 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Since I set my long-term goal of reaching 600,000 HP, I've been going over many possible ways that this could be achieved. To say that this is a huge goal is an understatement. Many would say that without outside investment that it's impossible. I'd say it's very challenging, but not impossible.

I do have some off-chain crypto assets that I could use, but I'm waiting for a better price to sell them. They would still likely only get me a few thousand HIVE, so while this would help, it wouldn't get me to my goal of 600,000 HP.

If I look at the numbers in terms of how much HP I'd have to gain each day for one year, it's pretty bloody daunting.

600,000÷365=1,643.836 HP/day

If I spread it out over five years, it's still quite a lot to consistently gain per day.

365x5=1,825

600,000÷1,825= HP/day

So getting to 600,000 HP just by earning HP is not very feasible. This means that other options are likely necessary. Given that as of late HBD converts to HIVE at around a 1:3 ratio, give or take (yes, it's a litle less at the moment), using HBD as a means of reaching this goal looks much more promising.

This is more reasonable, but still not exactly easy, as 200,000 HBD is also a very large amount. Thankfully HBD in Savings presently earns a 20% APR compounding interest, so beyond a certain level, the interest on the HBD that we have in Savings begins growing quite quickly indeed.

100×.2÷12=1.666
1,000×.2÷12=16.666
10,000×.2÷12=166.666
100,000×.2÷12=1,666.666

By the time we got to 200,000 HBD in Savings, we'd be earning 3,333.333 HBD in interest every month. That's a sizable chunk of change!

At a 1:3 ratio of conversion, that would equate to about 10,000 HIVE every month. That would be about 120,000 HIVE per year. That would get me to to my goal of 600,000 HP. This is operating under the assumption that the APR on HBD in Savings would remain at 20%, and that the HBD:HIVE conversion would remain at approximately 1:3. In any case, I think it's pretty clear to me that I need to focus far more of growing my HBD in Savings as quickly as I can. This would allow me to not only reach my massive HP goal, but also to be able to easily live off of the HBD interest that I receive each month. I have a small chunk of HBD that I've been waiting for a better price to convert to HIVE for #HPUD, but with the clarity of this information, I may just add it to Savings. New goals are coming into focus.

Living off-grid in the jungle is a beautiful thing, however, it also comes with its host of notable challenges. I've mentioned that we didn't have a functional water system for about five days. Well, with all the rain, and our one working pump, we were able to get water flowing yesterday, for a time. There is still a very problematic issue of losing water somehow, from somewhere, that still very quickly needs to be resolved. The pump ran all night last night, somehow draining the more-full water tank. The pump running all night also drained our solar system batteries, so we had a bit of a challenge getting the electrical system up and running again this morning. We have a fair bit of troubleshooting to do it seems.

The tropical storm that passed through our area the day before and last night was mostly done by yesterday, aside from a pretty dense cloud cover. I focused on my Hive catch-up and tasks from morning until about 4PM, as is my present norm. I was able to get just about everything done, thankfully. Before diving into working on the land, I walked around a bit, to take photos for this post.

The main task that I did yesterday was to help (several people came in and out to help) move three truckloads of wood from Ano's studio, to store it at Thimbleberry, a short distance away. It took a few hours, and it was a lot of work. The fire ants also didn't help. We finally finished just before sunset.

When I was done with the wood, I took a very welcomed shower, made myself food in the Landing, strained out more kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, and then headed back to the Flow House to dive into another round of Hive catch-up and tasks. I was able to get that done fairly early, but I still ended up staying up until just after 11PM. I did sleep well, however, which is great.

This morning, aside from helping Ano figure out and fix the electrical system after the water pump drained the batteries (usually it's easy, but this morning there was some weird stuff going on), I went to our community NVC meeting. Most of the conversation was around the electrical and water systems, and I didn't feel that I needed to be there, so I checked out to return the Flow House to write this post.

It's now almost 12:30PM, so a good time to wrap of this post, so that I can get to my Hive catch-up and tasks, that I haven't been able to do yet. There is a large coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun at the moment, with Hawai'i being hit dead on, so people here are more agitated than usual, and electrical devices go awry a bit more.
