I Am #AliveAndThriving Today! || #IAmAliveChallenge || Daily Off-Grid Jungle Journal Entry: Day #314 - The Hive Filter - GaiaYoga Gardens, Lower Puna, Far East Big Island, Hawai'i - Tuesday, June 6, 2023

I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in a 16-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

To everyone that has been enjoying my photos lately in these posts, please forgive me, I forgot to take photos today! Because of that, I have three photos of the Flow House at night. It's not as amazing as my nature and plant photos, I know. I apologize! I'll make sure to take extra amazing photos for you tomorrow! @michaelklinejr, I'm tagging you as you expressed interest in seeing the Flow House.

Today I shared an excellent comment conversation with my dear Hive brother, @caelum1infernum, in which Hive's greatest weakness, the onboarding process, was turned into a strength. The important gist of the conversation was that the challenges associated with onboarding to Hive are actually an excellent filter to weed out those who are soley here to exploit the Blockchain, or those who aren't willing to invest the time and energy necessary into creating wealth here.

This struck a chord with me. I've always very much been an autodidactic self-learner that likes to do things for himself. That's how I've learned pretty much everything in my life where I have proficiency and skill.

Hive has a steep learning curve, that's true, but perhaps that's not a bad thing. Maybe that's part of why we have such exceptional people on the Blockchain. Hive, like any deep, meaningful relationship, requires commitment, dedication, patience, and consistency over time. This is not the Blockchain for those that only want everything quick and easy.

My beloved Arch Linux falls into the same category. It also has a steep learning curve, but for those that take the time to understand it, its flexible and elegant simplicity is utterly enthralling. It's also very much for the DIY types who are willing to put in the time to learn it well, and the rewards for doing so, like with Hive, make it well worth all the time and effort spent in the process.

This was a mostly cloudy Tuesday here in the Lower Puna jungle. A very notable chunk of it was devoted to my Hive catch-up once again, from early morning all the way until 4PM, for both my account and my comment moderation for @aliveandthriving. It's truly mind-boggling how many notifications I receive every single day. I know I'm over-the-top active, but sheesh!

The only actual physical work that I got done today was repairing a corner of screen (most of our structures have no walls, but rather screens) at Braja's place. That took me all of fifteen minutes. When I finished with that, I spent a some time helping Sperry secure his Hive keys with Buttercup, an excellent free and open-source cross-platform (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, and Linux) high-encryption password-and-secrets manager. Thank you much @treefrognada for the recommendation! I also spent a good chunk of time answering lots of questions that Sperry had about Hive, as well as explaining, and showing him, various important Hive features.

Once I finished helping Sperry with his Hive account, I made food in the Landing, strained out more kefir for my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend, and returned to the Flow House to do another short round of Hive catch-up, a little token management, and then finally to write this post. Outwardly it was not the most productive day, but I'm grateulful that I was able to help Sperry with Hive, and go get him a bit more set up with it.

It's now just part 10:30PM, and I'd like to get to sleep very soon, so I'll end this post for the night. I deeply appreciate you all! Until tomorrow! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
