I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in a 16-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙

Polish_20220714_121754649.jpg

Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Hive does several things very well indeed, and solves multitudinous problems that many people don't even know exist yet. It's still (thankfully) flying under the radar, as it grows, develops, and strengthens its resiliency and defenses. It's decentralized yes, but it needs to be even more decentralized, and preferably even fully distributed. Every potential point of attack and failure must be fully rectified before all the eyes of the world are on us, and more specifically the eyes looking through cross hairs.

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

IMG_20230505_171344010.jpg

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

Because Hive gives power and freedom back to We The People, those who benefit from maintaining the slave system will at some point take aim at us, and we need to be ready for that when it comes. When word spreads of what Hive is, what it can do, and what it means, then multitudes worldwide will be knocking on our door, asking for their place on the Blockchain. Everything changes at that point.

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

IMG_20230505_171403721_HDR.jpg

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

So enjoy our quiet and uneventful, easy days while they last, because Hive's explosion on the world stage, and in Human awareness, is all but guaranteed. Build and grow in our remaining quiet and mellow days.

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

IMG_20230505_171409960_HDR.jpg

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

Today I spent most of my day focused on Hive, with catch-up, daily tasks, comment moderation, token management, and writing and publishing my Early-May Off-Grid Jungle Garden Journal: Food-Forest Snapshots post. I also spent a good bit of time researching how to resolve a buggy ACPI implementation on my laptop which is preventing me from switching back to the dedicated Nvidia GPU in Linux. I may have to create my own DSDT, to fix sloppy ACPI code not playing well with Linux, which is far stricter with its code. It's annoying, but I'll figure it out.

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

I left the Flow House quite late today, at 5PM, so I dedicated myself to doing some very focused clearing work with my machete, to at least be somewhat productive in terms of land work. I love Hive, but I don't want to stay on my phone and computer all day like I did today. Integration, wholeness, and balance are what I'm wanting.

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

IMG_20230505_171552862_HDR.jpg

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

When I finished the clearing work, I took a wondeful hot shower, made myself some food in the Landing (seasoned and spiced ground beef patties), and I strained out a round of kefir with which I made my kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao blend. I took photos of my kefir process for my Homemade Kefir Blended with Honey, Cinnamon, and Cacao post, which I published just before beginning this one.

Polish_20220714_121631044.jpg

So that was basically my day: Hive, Arch, a little land work, and three posts. Not the most balanced day, but I got a good bit done! And with that, I believe it's time to end this post for the night and go to sleep! I deeply appreciate you all! Until tomorrow! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

All photos were taken with my Motorola G Power Android Phone.

Polish_20220714_121551463.jpg

Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚

Sounds like you got a lot of things done, bot online and off! :D

The people looking through crosshairs... I feel like they've been looking at me very closely lately, and all the ducking has sapped my energy, so that's why I've not been here. Or anywhere, really.

"Treefrog, I noticed there was dust on your windowsills, and some of all those books you keep around looked like they were falling apart! Why don't you do something about it, before I visit next?!!" Because the dust doesn't bother me yet, and the books still have all their pages, duh. Good books they are, too!

"You should have told me there was peanut butter in the sauce with the chicken skewers, I HATE peanut butter!" Then why did you eat twice as much as the rest of us?

"Do you have to have a whole cupboard full of spices? At mommy's home we have coffee and sugar and such in that cupboard! I can never find anything when I'm here!" Yes, we do have to. And that's just the opened packages. Have you seen all the unopened ones we keep in what's supposed to be a wardrobe? 😝 BTW The coffee, tea, sugar and honey are right in front of you on the kitchen counter, next to the kettle...

And so on, and on, and on. 🤷‍♀️

Indeed, though I would have liked a little more balance between online and offline work...hehe. Oh my...I feel for you! People can be quite curious creatures, that is for sure! There are many reasons I love in the jungle, silly people being one of them!

I need a full compliment of spices, too. It is absolutely essential!

I've missed you and your wondefully quirky and expressive comments @treefrognada! Hive just isn't the same without you! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Haha, surely I'm not the quirkiest person on Hive! I miss being here too, but have to prioritize other stuff at the moment. I still wish I could find a front-end with a useable notification system. That would let me use my few moments here better - less scrolling, more reading and commenting ;)

You have your own unique quirks, incomparable to those of anyone else! All good, I definitely understand. That's half the reason that application are created in the Free-and-Open-Source Software community, when someone can't find one that suits them, so they just create their own! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I love free of course, and most of the apps I use are open source. I'd rather trust that some of all the thousands of users/coders will pipe up and say something if they find that an app does something shady - and quickly write a fix for it! - than trust MS, Google etc to not do anything shady, regardless of what their ToC and EULAs say.

I'm sadly not able to write my dream frontend myself, though how hard can it be? A little bit of html and css, some php to connect to the blockchains and sort out the returns... Too hard for me!

Yes, ditto that here too! I do not trust any big tech, at all. Period. They do not at all have people's best interest in mind.

I keep saying that I should learn some programming languages, as I'd probably be very good at it. I haven't done so yet, though. My love of Arch Linux and Hive may yet get me into it! I think you'd likely be quite good at it too! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Haha, I actually learned English from a beginners book on the BASIC language since there were none in Swedish back then, and playing Colossal Cave on my father's computer, and then went on to playing around with HyperCard and it's scripting language, and after a while I moved on to HTML, PHP and even javascript. But I lost interest in programming and making websites because I wasn't good enough at it + plus people just thought the things I did were weird 🤷‍♀️

A slot machine using the symbols from newspaper death notices, which said something like "You DIED! Do you want to reincarnate?" when you ran out of credits.
A very simple pvp game featuring yarn witches throwing spells at each other, where the stats depended on how many upvotes your recent posts on my website's message board had gotten.
Email postcards featuring extreme closeups of things like a geranium leaf, the bottom of a frying pan, toothbrush bristles, cooked rice that had been left to dry, and other things that were totally unrecognizable...

I can't imagine why those never caught on. If people just had better taste I could've been rich and famous by now, and been able to spend my days cooking, or lazing around in bed with a good book, or playing around on the interwebs. Oh, wait, that's all I do anyways. Maybe fame and fortune aren't needed!

You always impress me @treefrognada. I had a feeling that you had all sorts of things like that hiding inside you! I'm not at all surprised. I mentioned that my love for Hive and Arch Linux may yet get me into learning actual programming languages, and I think that may indeed be true. I can feel me getting closer and closer to that. It feels natural to me. I work with BASH scripts all the time, which is fun to me, especially with the power I have in Linux.

Thank you for sharing all that! I appreciate it a lot! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Once you get going, lets talk doing something together! I may have been slacking in keeping up the actual coding knowledge but I still stay tuned in enough to know what's possible to do, and what's just a dream - and I promise my ideas are no less weird these days 😹

Meat is usually bought by the community from local trusted people. There are lots of wild pigs which some people here trap, partly for meat, and partly to control their very rapid population growth. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It seems to me that you were talking about beef, not pork for dinner, now I understand. Have you considered getting yourself goats? Care is minimal, there is plenty of food around, milk and meat will always be at your fingertips. Wild pork is a rather dangerous and unpredictable product, I tell you as a hunter and a person who has worked in the pet business for a long time. You need a very powerful heat treatment of meat, so as not to harm yourself. !BEER

Yep, true, I was! We just got some short-haired sheep (long-haired sheep don't do well out here at all) that look like goats. I grew up with an ardant animal-loving mother and lots of animals, so it's hard for me to be around animals being killed. They do it here periodically, and I steer clear of it. They trap and kill the wild pigs here often. Some people here also eat only raw, including meat, and have eaten raw wild pig for years with seemingly no ill effects. I have not, and have no desire to do so. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Sheep give little milk and get sick more often than goats, goats are more unpretentious and give more offspring, they are more profitable in such conditions.
!CTP

Indeed, they seem quite a bit more adaptable. I think part of the reason they seem to prefer sheep here is that they are easier to keep contained, and since we live in a food forest, making sure they don't eat important plants is important. Our fences leave a bit to be desired. I'll suggest goats again. They just have a far greater capacity to climb, which is problematic. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

In Moldova, where I was born, they put on a collar for goats, like for a dog, and restrict their movement with a rope that connects the collar and a steel or wooden peg hammered into the ground. So you can control their movement and diet :)

I like that idea. No need for a fence then. The main thing for which we use the sheep at the moment is as living lawnmowers, to help keep the weeds down in the fruit orchards, which works somewhat, but isn't exactly efficient. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I myself am a fan of sheep cheese of varying degrees of exposure, but in this case, it seems to me that goats are more practical neighbors than sheep.

The recipe is simple, but there are a lot of ingredients, all based on 5 fish that fit into a three-liter jar, 2 liters of water.

We clean the fish and cut off the heads, put it in a jar after the brine has cooled. which we prepare in the following way:
As I already said. water 2 liters, rock salt 180 g, sugar 40 g, black pepper 10 peas, ground nutmeg 3 pinches, ground mint 5 pinches, ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons, ground bay leaf 3 teaspoons, cloves 5 pieces, ground coriander teaspoon , mustard seed 3 teaspoons, ground chili pepper 2 pinches.
We combine spices with water and boil until boiling, boil for 5 minutes, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Pour the solution into a jar of fish and leave it in a cool place for 5 days; under your conditions, you can bury the jar in the shade of trees deeper if there is no refrigerator. After 5 days, enjoy an incredible bouquet of taste :)
In theory, I should have left !PIZZA :)

In the event that, for example, if you do not buy a RAM slot, or change an old video card for the same one, they may eventually become more expensive than a computer that you bought 5-10 years ago, apparently, it goes into the section of collectible rarities, for which the rules are not written .
I bought an Alfa Romeo 75 in 1996 for $3,200, and invested about $3,500 in an engine overhaul, where only ringed sleeves with pistons cost $800 :)

There's a whole community of retro-hardware lovers that do collect computers and devices like that. It's great that Linux can be used on both the old and new technologies, and generally works quite well. Thankfully, overall, the price of computers and computer components has steadily gone down, allowing one to get more for less, generally. Of course, when you're trying to build the best system possible, it can get quite pricey indeed.

It always struck me as crazy how expensive vehicles are, and right along with that, how much it costs to repair and maintain them. That's one reason I've rarely owned any in my life. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

In fact, in view of the fact that the parts of most cars, I'm not talking about manual, unique assembly, are manufactured and assembled on robotic equipment, which has long paid for itself, then its cost should not exceed many times the cost of metal, plastic, polymers and paints and varnishes , which are used in the car, and this is the total mass of approximately 2 tons, when it is less, when it is more, and when the price of the car exceeds 10,000 Euros of which, even if half is manual labor, many questions and guesses arise that they want to deceive me: )
