Scared The Shit Out Of Me😰

Just thinking of this day reminds me of how scared I was on that fateful day, it was a terrifying day of my life, here is what transpired and how I got to be in such an incident.

I was in Port Harcourt for my waec, this was after I had left my aunt's place after I summoned the courage to finally live there. I had gone back to Lagos to see my parents and siblings, I never told anyone why I left my aunt's place and no one asked me and I felt relieved about it, I had already made the registration for the waec exam and the date of the exam was about three weeks away and it was going to last for a month and that is why I decided to go see them before the commencement of the exam.

Like a breeze, my holiday came to an end and I was to go back to Port Harcourt after being in Lagos for weeks, I packed my bags and left for the bus park, I didn't go back to my aunt's place because I already made it up my mind about not staying with her anymore, I instead went to my brothers place, it was the first time at his place, the area was covered by tall trees and some places where convert with bushes, and just feresidencesce were around, it was a perfect place for me to read and have my me time. I even cut my hair so I could be able to stimulate whatever I read, (don't mind me, I felt cutting my hair was a clean start for me).

So I wrote my exams, and just as it was about two exams left, on that day I was at home(brother's place) and some cars came and stopped in front of the house and started looking at a piece of land that was right in front of the house and so after some minutes a man walked up to me to make enquiries about the land I told him I had no idea, he said the person who directed them said the caretaker lives around and I thought maybe it was my brother they were talking about and so I went in and brought my phone to call to my brother, he asked I gave them the phone which I did and after they spoke for some minutes the man handed back my phone to me, and he went back to his friend, to cut the long story short before he left he asked for my number and said we should hang out sometimes and I said okay.

The day he called me to hangout with him, I was free and so I went, we went to the pool first bit I said I wasn't swimming and after having a drink there we left and because I also had some things to do, he accompanied me to where I was to repair the phones I was with, he even paid for the repairs and lastly we hung out at a pepper soup joint where I thought I was enjoying myself, and then It was time to go back home, it was just past 7 pm and the evening was still clear I was in my mind because I got a lot of things from our little outing, though I knew I wasn't going to be serious with him, it just a woman sense as we call it here in Nigeria Because back in lagos I had a boyfriend, I knew I wasn't going to date him even though he made mention of it, just as I was walking by the road to get a cab that would take me home, two men came out of the deserted market area and one of them scratched a matchet on the ground and that was when I knew it was a serious something. They threatened to cut my hand if I didn't drop whatever I had with me, I was still thinking someone could save me before it was still bright and we were on the expressway where cars passed, can't as I thought that I was going to be saved by the car that was passing by, one of the men used his cuas to hit the car and the car drove off.

I had no choice but to drop everything I carried except the small phone that I had in my pocket and they ran off in the next direction, then I began crying out of fear because I had never been in that kind of situation. I used the small phone to call my brother to tell him what happened.

As I sat on the ground crying many people came down from their car and tried to console me, one of them even gave me money to use to transport myself back home, and another man decided to give me a lift to my bus stop, I mean I was scared for my life when I got to the bus stop my brother was angry and at the same happy that I was safe, he then told me a woman was rushed to hospital at that same area because he had a friend who lived there, he said some guys robbed her and because she wouldn't drop what was with her, they use cutlass to cut off her hands. At this point I knew that I was in real shit, if I wasn't scared before now I was really scared, I was just thanking God that it wasn't anything more than stealing my bags and goods I carried. I was grateful for my life.

After my exams ended I didn't wait for a day, the next day I was on the first bus out of Port Harcourt to Lagos. I cannot come and die in a strange land.

Like happy moments there exists some bad moments in our life when we feel very scary. Sometimes we wish we never faced that kind of situation. But nobody can ignore the reality. I think we are still alive and that is the greatest blessing of Almighty.

That was a terrifying experience you had. Thank God that you gave them what they requested. Those kind of hoodlums are heartless.

After the show came the party, heheh. I'm just happy you were safe and also its a good thing that they allowed you to keep your small phone. Else, it would have been a different story.

Im certain you learnt a lesson after that day.
