That wasn't my original goal. But in recent articles I have written about the history of my country from 1918-2023. Since I have started, I will also finish the topic.

My country became free from communism in 1989. Most people thought we all had only a happy future. But there were problems.

I don't know if you've experienced anything like this. If anyone can imagine. We've had over 40 years of unfreedom. People got used to it.

Suddenly it became clear that many people did not want the liberty that comes with responsibility, but the care of the state.
A certain section of the public requires someone to think and decide for them.

Last time I wrote about national problems. Now I will mention economic and social problems.

We have made the transition from dictatorship to democracy and from a centrally planned economy to a market economy. But the people have remained the same.

Objectively, we're better off. Prices have increased about tenfold, salaries almost twentyfold. We have good education, health care. It's safe here, we trust our justice system and police. We have an unemployment rate of about 3%.

However, about 20% of the population does not want this and votes for populist parties that make unrealistic promises. I am afraid that we are a normal European country in this respect.

But commemorative coins were also minted at this time.
