“Most of the time you don't need more information, you need more courage.”

James Clear

There is something in the corporate jargon that is called "analysis paralysis" which is when people overthink and overanalyze a problem and take too long to make a decision, occasionally missing opportunities or creating even bigger problems.

There are many factors involved in that phenomenon but the root of it can be traced back to fear.

Fear of making a wrong decision, fear of failure, fear of not taking the best possible deal, you name it.

Making informed decisions is crucial and a very important skill but you need to be able to actually make decisions. If you are always waiting for more information, more input and mitigation strategies for every possible risk you can conceive, you will find yourself stuck.

There needs to be balance. You need to obtain enough information to bring the risk down to a level where you feel more comfortable but you also need courage to take that leap of faith and actually make a call because many opportunities don't last forever.

You will never be right 100% of the time. No one is. And if it's a given fact that you will be wrong sometimes, you'll want to "be wrong" fast so you still have time to correct your course.
