"Time passes whether I stand still or move."

Anne Barngrover

Today's quote is by someone I never heard of before. Anne Barngrover is an American poet and professor and the author of three poetry collections.

I don't know if she is exactly famous because I could not find much about her and there is no Wikipedia page on her. Not that Wikipedia is a good measure of fame but you get the point.

In any case, her words got me thinking from the moment I stumbled on them, so I thought it would be nice to include them in this series. After all, I featured less famous people in the past; one of them was myself.

I tend to think short quotes can be very cryptical and, because they usually don't provide a lot of context, there are a lot of interpretations one can draw.

Time is probably one of the most democratic things in our lives because no matter who you are or how much money you have, we all have the same number of hours in a day and it's up to us to decide what to do with them.

And time passes at the same pace to those who make the most of it and to those who stand still and do nothing. Some years from now, whether we like it or not, we will be forced by the very nature of life to look back and "face" what we did or did not do with our time so think carefully what you want to see when that time comes for you.
