I would go for picture 1, picture 2 simply gives me a too negative vibe and I try not to constantly get drawn into negative things if I have the option to stay away from it. I mean, some things are thrown at you, and then I have to deal with it, but in this case, if you write a story and I would want to read it, the picture should not be number 2 because then I'd have a negative vibe even before reading.
Sorry just being honest... It's a bit the same as not looking up the negative news on X about wars and such :) lol.. the first picture gives me the feeling that I could get a happy or positive vibe from reading and maybe even make me think about my own life in a deeper way etc..
Let's see if other people agree :)

Well I am really happy with this feedback and I totally get your point. Pic one was the initial idea but I kept experimenting and at the darker side picture two caught my attention as well. But they will really have to have good arguments to beat yours !PIZZA just in case you did not have dinner yet
Glad I could help. Remember how I read all your parts of that one story? The next one put me off because of this reason, and it was also not really my style, which is ok of course because that happens. Can't win them all haha..
But you already know that you can grab my interest and I'd say go for the one where you grab someone's positive attention because I think that will gain you long-term readers easier and more engagement over a post they don't even open because the image is a bit more negative.
I'm not saying you can never use something like that, not at all, but for a returning story, I'd say the first one is your better choice.

One can not have too many tapas in my opinion.
But other than that I fully get you, great points. And this story will be a mix of both the one you read and the one that was not your thing. I only could not say if it would close enough to your taste, especially the start as it starts from the story you don´t like and then twists with the other story...... anyway I got a game to finish and I have great feedback! THX!!!!
