Protecting a loved one everyday!
When I read the contest description, the first thing that came to my mind was who is that important person to whom I helped tremendously throughout my life. The answer that came was "me". I helped myself. Although I helped many people and loved ones in my life, at the bottom of the level, without helping myself, I would not have been in a position to help others.
I believe that helping oneself is much more important here. To protect the loved ones, the first requirement is to remain self-contained as the first and last person who helps and listens is us only. 8 billion people, but the one who remains at the door always is us only. And we help ourselves every day, sometimes fighting against our thoughts, continuing despite being tired, and working against our will, these are some of the instances where we are in dilemma and only "us" is the person who helps out.
The amount of work that our body does, the amount of calculation that our brain does, and the amount of emotions that are mended daily, remain unnoticed in the chaos of daily life. When such things remain unnoticed, they affect our emotional and mental well-being and cut us off from the world. It then takes the shape of various mental issues like anxiety, depression, and low energy which kills our everyday life.
At this point, a person is required. In the initial days, this person is either mom or dad or siblings. In later life, it is either a wife or childhood friend. But despite everything, depression, and alone-ness kick in and tell us that we are alone in many of our decisions.
Self-care and self-love is not easy. You know how much depression is prevalent today, suicide rates are ever-increasing. This shows how alone we are when it comes to "ourselves" and this is the time when it must be addressed. You can see many doctors, YouTube videos are available, and trainers and books which guide us. But let me tell you the solution in a nutshell way, the idea behind self-love is to take time out and just sit with ourselves. No phone, no drinks, maybe a walk, and believe me the internal you are much more powerful than you think, it's just the overloaded brain that makes the situation worse.
Initially, I never liked my self company but with time I practised it. A lone walk, sitting peacefully on a park bench, watching the sky in the night, and dining at a restaurant alone, are some of the things that I practiced and slowly I began to like my self-company. And I became my best buddy of mine, the partner who is always there to listen to me and help me out. If there is no solution, that inner person still stays with me and prays with me.
Conclusion
This topic made me express my gratitude towards myself for standing all the time. Helping a loved one is necessary but helping ourselves is the need of the time. A strong helping hand is what everyone desires off, hence let's be that strong person who when extends a helping hand, and makes sure that trouble goes off.
