The Shared Legacy of Icons: A Journey of Discovery.

It is sometimes funny how we don't get to know some things until we somehow find out about them somewhere. I have not really had the chance to go through the history of the popular novel writer, Professor Wole Soyinka, who has been a very popular and renowned Nigerian writer, playwright, poet, and political activist. He has been there for a long year, and now he is 89 years old. I have never been able to meet him in person, but I see him on TV and on social media when you address people and talk to them about a series of things.

After being able to discover little things about him, I was at the library at my university, where I was able to discover that he is a cousin of the late popular singer, Olikoye Ransom Kuti. This made me so surprised, and I had to call some of my friends to come check if I was saying something different or not. We added it to the banner where it was posted in the library, and we saw that it took a picture with Olikoye Ransom Kuti and his wife. This feels so strange to me because I have never been able to hear this from anyone, nor has my research ever taken me to this angle.

Professor Wole Soyinka is widely known to be one of the most influential literary figures of the 20th century in Africa, as well as for his poetic command of the English language. This is a lot of history that I got to know from just visiting a library, but actually, there are still more things that I would need to find out about Professor Wole Soyinka, and not just about him being a cousin to Olikoye Ransom Kuti. But, according to the research, I later did it because I was curious about what I saw in the library.

He has also been a collaborator with the likes of Gbenga Sonuga, Tunji Oyelana, and the like. There is still a lot to be discovered about the great icon Professor Wole Soyinka and also from history, it was said that he was once a lecturer at the University of ile-ife where he taught a lot of students literature. History is the best, and I love to discover new things. Here is a bit of my discovery about Professor Wole Soyinka.
