FPY Orientation: Excitement & Stress for a Semi-Finalist

School is back, and many students have resumed school. Most of the first-year students, the final-year students, and the semi-finalists have resumed school with respect to what we are doing. As a semi-finalist, we are going through a process for the next six months, which is the farm practice year known as FPY. This process is to last for the next six months, like doing IT (industrial training). I was never thinking this would start so soon until we were told to start the orientation on Monday.

We got a notice to resume orientation on Monday, and we are to run it from Monday until Friday, and we will always be present at the venue every day without missing any day with the attendance that will be taken every day. The more you come for the orientation, the better your chances of getting a better score.

A lot of rules have been given since Monday, and some were given today also to guard the students against the training process. Many students were so happy to be able to make it to this place and get this far to becoming semifinalists because it's not an easy job to do. Starting Monday, we will be heading to the farm, where most of what we have learned will be put into practice, and we will be able to learn more.

I would say I am happy I have attained this stage, but on the other hand, I am not happy because of the stress of going to the farm every day. We are not going to be paid for whatever we are learning or doing, but we will work tirelessly to get the score we want to add to our next session results. To get better grades, one must work diligently and work to impress their supervisor so that they can get a better recommendation.

As the process continues next week, I will continue to share the progress here, and tomorrow is orientation day 3, which I believe will be a better one and also treat us well even if we won't spend the whole day there. Seating and listening alone is a bit of a stressful something to do. I hope tomorrow treats me well.
