Festive Facades: Do We Spend to Truly Celebrate Christmas?

In the festive mood as we gather with her friends and families to celebrate the Christmas and New Year's celebrations. This has always been on my mind to do for so long, but the fact that we are still going to get to this point does not make it baffle me anymore. I sometimes wonder when we say we do not have money, and then when it comes to urgency and celebrations, we look for a way to get this money we claim not to have.

What prompted me to share this? I was with a friend earlier this morning when we were discussing how we want this Christmas to be and the plans he has for celebrating Christmas. I didn't talk too much because I knew I wasn't planning anything huge, but I just wanted to go with the flow of Christmas anyway. But my friend, on the other hand, claims not to have money to celebrate and later gave me some full details of what he has in plan.

He started by saying he was going to have some fun at a beach, to which he will be going with some of his female friends, and after that, he will be in the bar chilling with the big boys, among lots of other things that I cannot even remember him mentioning. I was very surprised about these things, and I was like, Your Christmas will surely be a fun-filled one compared to mine.

At first, I didn't want to complain because I felt it was normal during the Christmas period, but what kept me amazed was the fact that he said he didn't have any plans at all because there was no money, and later money came and different plans all around. Christmas is already getting a better face for my friend, and I know that with that, we are going to have some fun together.

What are your plans yet for this festive period? Do you have the plane to have any fun or go out? Well, in as much as it's not a must to do, it's also sometimes necessary because most of us have been working right from January without even having some days off work to have fun and enjoy the money we have been making. I feel that's why this period is different, and it will make everyone feel relaxed and be able to enjoy themselves to the fullest.
