Birds Love It, But Can Humans Eat It?

Every day of my life, I always like to explore more things to be able to learn and build my knowledge. Today, when I was coming back from the class, I came across a plant, or, let me say, a tree, but not a big tree. I have always wondered what kind of tree this is, but I just decided to take the pictures today and probably make some inquiries about it because I am always curious about what this tree is.

From research by the gardener, I was told that this plant is called a Christmas palm, also known as the Manila palm, whose botanical name is Adonidia merrillii. The Christmas palm is a very beautiful tree, which I love so much because of its fruits. The tree produces a punch of fruits that are Greenish and later turn reddish when they're ripe, and this red color makes it look so bright and beautiful.

Also, I have been seen that most of the time when I pass by, I do not see any humans taking these fruits. They are very easily accessible, but most of the time I saw birds eating this plant, which means it is edible for birds and not humans. It is just useful for decoration for humans to beautify our environment. The Christmas tree also enjoys sunlight more, and I think this is what makes it brighter and dislikes cold temperatures.

The Christmas palm is planted in soil that drains well, because it needs water to grow well. Overall, this plant is very easy to maintain because it doesn't give much stress and can grow even when you don't come to it daily when it's planted in its appropriate soil type and under favorable weather conditions.
