How Saturated Is The Job Market For Developers?

I read an article that descibed how so many developers were laid off from companies they worked at for several years and how getting a new job was a serious issue most developers face, especially getting a job that paid as much as the previous job paid. A big statement posed in the article was if the job market was saturated.

This has also been a concern for upcoming developers and people who are just starting to learn a few tech skills. "Will there be a job for me?", "Is being a developer still worth it?". I've heard many students and upcoming programmers ask these and the amswer is that I don't think the job market for developers is saturated and I don't it will ever be saturated. However some skills are now saturated and companies would rather employ an individual who can fit into two roles just to save themselves some money. For example, many companies would rather employ a full stack dev than employ a frontend dev and a backend dev, since most full stack devs can perform well in both roles. It's basically survival of the fittest. Only the strongest and most experienced developers are considered for roles and those with little or not so many knowledge about their field struggle to get back up after lay offs and find it hard to land job.

This is why it is very important for developers and those in the IT field to constantly keep learning and developing themselves not for any other reason but because the field itself is constantly evolving and isnt static hence anyone who fails to grow with it gets left behind. Learning a skill to get a job isn't enough for survival in any field, constantly learning and developing ourselves makes us invincible and a valuable asset.
