LeoAds went live as far as the payouts go. Many seem happy with the fact they are now receiving Leo Power simply for staking some tokens and being active.

This is a powerful system. As many pointed out, LEO now pays 100% of the ad revenue brought in to the community members. To be eligible, 500 Leo Power is the base level. There is also evergreen rewards for pageviews associated with people's content. This requires 200 impressions per month (in total).

To contrast, Elon Musk and X require 500K or 1 million to be eligible.

As we can see the bar is much lower.

What makes this fascinating is the amount being paid is solely within the hands of the community. In other words, we can write our own paychecks.

To do this, we have to focus upon what is crucial: pageviews.

The New Mantra

We now are getting some indication how bad the numbers truly are. The thread above is shows we are seeing roughly 1,500 clicks on Threads per day. This is absolutely awful.

Before this we were dependent upon the total of pageviews. We can see this information by going to SimpleAnalytics:

As we can see, over the past month, we are looking at 221K page views. This is misleading since we see the large gap in the middle. For most of this year, we are averaging between 10K-13K. This puts up around 350K for the month.

This is a very low number and one that is not going to fly if we expect to sell any advertising when the in-house ad platform is designed. Anyone of stature wants impressions that are much higher.

As stated, we are fortunate because this is all within our control. At the same time, we are also the ones who benefit. Those payouts that arrived from LeoAds, how would you like them to be double or triple what they are (in USD terms)?

There is a simple way to achieve that: more page views.

This is our starting point. We have the ability to write our own payments if we desire. For that reason, there is incentive for everyone to step up.

It is the beauty of Web 3.0. The users are also the owners and this is seen through the ad revenue program.

Generate More Page Views

We are to the stage where it is time for people to get innovative about what they do. For months we harped upon the concept of each account being its own business. Now we see if in a monetary sense.

Whatever was paid out, that is the baseline from which everyone should operate. The goal, like any business, is to increase that number. Everyone should desire being able to live and pay most of his or her bills from the LeoAd program. Obviously, that is going to require much larger numbers if we are going to enjoy that outcome.

Of course, we have to keep in mind that hundreds of thousands in ad revenue is nothing. The big bananas, Facebook and Google, generate billions each quarter. We are only seeking the smallest fraction of that. With a tightly held float, we should see the buy demand help push the price higher.

What is required: page views.

I will be dusting off a concept we tried last year. There were technical challenges which caused us issues at the time. With some of the improvement, along with premium membership, we can work around to make this something that will open some eyes.

Open Threads Before Commenting

Here is something that I started doing which is a simple trick that can add to the total.

For those on desktop, each time you are apt to reply to a thread, simply open it in a new tab. It only takes a fraction of a second more yet does add to the counter. There is nothing worse than looking at a stream of threads on the latest feed and all of them have zero on the counter.

This also applies to notifications. I understand it is a challenge on mobile but when using a PC (or laptop), it is a piece of cake.

Right now the numbers are so bad that any activity of this nature will improve things. That said, we can see a compounding effect. Look at the SimplyAnalytics page: does that chart excite you? Does that show growth? Is it something that screams, "I have to get involved"?

The answer is no.

Consider the same chart if it was nicely sloping up to the right, with more pageviews occurring each day. What if this chart was views on a 90d or 180d basis, with the same results? Suddenly, we have something that can be promoted and shown to others are having activity.

Simply put, people want to be where the action is.

Therefore, out task is to generate that action. All of this boils down to page views. It is not a complicated process.

If Leo wants to promote itself as a strong community, it is time for people to step up.
