It Is Impossible To Cancel Elon Musk

Elon Musk is a lightning rod.

There are those who detest him while others applaud him. He is a noted troll on social media, causing a stir most everywhere he goes. His outspoken approach is something that Wall Street analysts abhor since it doesn't fit the common mold.

Along the way, he became the richest person in the world with a net worth of over $230 billion. Some are projecting that he could end up becoming the first person with a trillion dollars.

An interesting discussion occurred this week on one of the broadcast networks. They were talking about Musk and whether he could be cancelled. Certainly, there are attacks from most of the mainstream media, pushing some to believe he will be silenced.

Of course, Musk's response to the likes of a BOB Iger, CEO of Disney, was to "go f*ck yourself".

So can Elon be cancelled?

Ignore Elon

Before getting to the impact he has, we have to define cancel. For the sake of this article, we will take it to me silence him and push him into a obedience (or out of the way).

From this perspective, the answer is no. To start, Elon purchased Twitter, a move that ensures his account will never be shut down. Hence, he will always have a voice since he is the owner of the platform.

There is, however, a much bigger piece to this puzzle. Moving beyond the simply ability to share his thoughts, the main question is whether Elon will diminish is stature.

The best way to explain this is using an example. Off the top of my head, Rosanne Barr is someone who was cancelled. She said some things that upset a lot of powerful people, especially in her industry. This led to her basically being ostracized from Hollywood. This is something that happened before.

Today, Rosanne can make the rounds on podcasts but that is about it. She was "put in her place" by the establishment, no longer being a major player in Hollywood. This is accompanied by the mainstream media simply ignoring her.

Will this work with Elon?

The answer is no. It is going to be impossible to ignore him simply because he is operating on such a massive scale.

In other words, for better or worse, you aren't going to be able to get away from Elon.

Elon's Impact

The problem that his haters have is the success he is achieving and the position he is placing himself in. Through his companies, he is tackling some of the biggest challenges for humanity, while having varying degrees of success.

It all starts with Tesla. This company is both the leading electric vehicle maker while also ranking third in global stationary battery installations. Do not be surprised to see Tesla leading in that realm in a few years. The company is breaking ground on another Megapack factory, this one in China. It is reported that it will mirror Lathrop which has a ramped capacity of about 20 Megapacks per day. These things are used by utilities and go for about $2 million apiece.

Next up is SpaceX. Starlink is already in operation. Every month, more satellites are launched. This is starting with Internet but will move to mobile phone services in the next few years. Of course, this is just one aspect to the business, with the rocketry becoming a new form of transportation.

With the advancement of rockets, it could be conceivable SpaceX sets up some form of system that allows for travel between places such as Tokyo and New York City. Think of it as the Concorde on steroids. This could be used to shuttle both people and cargo.

We also have a few other companies that are in early stages, but industries that could be vital. There is the entire artificial intelligence spectrum which Musk based companies are fully immersed in. X.ai might become one of his most important ventures.

Finally, there is the Tesla bot (named Optimus). This is years out yet it is something to consider based upon potential. Does this humanoid robot disrupt the labor market? That is what some are forecasting.

Whatever your feelings are about Musk, the reality is he is working on some major stuff. None of this will have a minor impact if successful. Of course, it could all blow up in his face although that is not likely. Based upon the success so far, there is enough to sustain the other endeavors. Another couple years of Tesla advancement could, for example, make the other aspects of his ecosystem even more valuable.

In Conclusion

Hate Musk all you want. Attack him without mercy. However, you best get use to him being around. In fact, there is a good chance your life will be impacted by at least one of his companies.

Just look at these fields:

It cannot be said this guy is playing around the edges. He is in the middle of a lot of areas of transformation that society will undergo due to technology.

Of course, while that is happening, Musk will keep trolling everyone he comes across.

I still wonder if he ever owned any DOGE. My guess is he didn't.

It is entertaining to see a billionaire that’s enjoying himself and having a bit of relatively harmless fun. We can’t say the same about some others that are trying to poison our foods, destroy our water, control our farms. The list goes on. I would take a handful of billionaires like Elon any day, if they take projects like his and advance them.

The only one I know will be dangerous is Neuralink. Say goodbye to thoughts being your own. Not a future I’m looking forward to.

Well like anything, it depends upon who controls it.

Since Elon is all for centralization, regulation, and the established system, other than medical needs, I am with you.

Hence, calls to attention. If you have enough power you can change the world. To this day, power doesn't have a filter to whom should hold it. Success is not a moral compass, and normaly those with more drive to get it are empathy lacking, which translates to...?

There's no social, nor economical sacred book that adress this. Still, in my opinion, he's the least of our problems.

Elon didn't attain his wealth overnight, he built and created both in his mind and in reality. Cancelling such a person will be impossible.

He almost went broke twice with Tesla... 2008 and 2018. Hopefully 2028 will be better for him.

I believe he is a genius and a beacon. To get an idea of the future it would be enough to listen to him. He is not someone who dreams and attracts the crowd to himself, he is someone who prefers to realize his dreams while he is alive

Hard to cancel the guy that just about owns all the current channels of communication and if he doesn't, can simply just purchase it.

Once again a great article.

Merry christmas my friend to you and your family and friends

Elon is at the center of issues that have a direct(or indirect) impact on humanity as a whole. I like that he isn't afraid to speak his mind and challenge the status quo. Trying to cancel him is a waste of time.

How about this scenario?

Twitter fails to make more money than it's spending, and goes bankrupt.

The Saudis and whoever else who lent Elon $13B want their money back, so he has to has to sell off his Tesla shares, causing the stock to tank and he gets ousted from Tesla. SpaceX, a company that has only been profitable for one quarter, is denied government contracts and quickly goes bankrupt as well.

Elon doesn't need much money to live, and has more than enough for himself, but now that he's a very public failure, he leans more and more into rightwing extremism to get attention and essentially gets ignored by everyone else.

I guess, technically, he doesn't get cancelled, he just kind of cancels himself because he couldn't make Twitter profitable.

I'm not saying the above will happen, but I think it could happen, and so no, I don't think it's impossible to cancel Elon Musk.

The Saudis and whoever else who lent Elon $13B want their money back

To start, there are agreements in place with these types of deals preventing them from walking in on a Wed and saying we want our money. So that is probably contractually prevented.

Second, why would they? X is about 16 licenses away from having all in the US to become a money transmittal company. So unless they believe X is just a social media company, they are not going to back away. The value likely doubles with a payment system. Look at the market cap of PayPal.

At least you are consistent with your hatred for a guy who is pushing for clean energy and actually doing something about it.

Then again, the MSM has you believe he is a right wing, Donald Trump loving redneck.

I don't hate Elon.
I've made a good amount of money from Tesla shares, and I truly believe the EV market (and solar battery market) wouldn't be anything like what it is today without him, and for that I'll always be grateful.

I do see all the lies that he tells though.
Telsas vary so wildly with their quality, some people get perfect machines and other people vehicles no where near the quality they should be. FSD has been just a year away for at least five years and I'm honestly not sure they're ever going to get there. I think Teslabot is a decade away at least. Hyperloop was a lie... to delay High Speed Rail.

Elon's company's have done amazing things - reusable rockets are incredible, but Elon gets things done by taking really risky gambles, and at some point it's not going to work out.

I don't think Elon loves Trump at all, I thought he was backing DeSantis?
But no, I don't listen to the MSM at all... but I have read a lot of Elon's tweets and he's tweeted some really awful hateful things, but honestly, I simply don't trust him.

If he did own $DOGE, it sure would have put him in hot water with all the comments he made about it!

Love him or hate him, but he is on the cutting edge of major innovations. While I might not be a fan of all of his antics, I do believe society is better off for having someone like Musk innovating on the front lines.

He is being sued over it. So I would say that he will have to reveal what he owns.

If he does have it, he could be in hot water. The fact that he made the statements and did what he did, if he owns the token, means he could face penalties for manipulation.

Of course, if he was trolling, then a lot of DOGE people will be pissed.
