While I know most don't like the smell or the taste of tempeh, I could enjoy if cooked/fried thoroughly. I should really put it on the menu here at home.

Yeah, some find the smell pungent. When growing up I also didn't appreciate it as much, but as I get older I appreciate a lot more and also start to eat ingredients I didn't like as a kid. Tastes change as we grow and get older.
