BETWEEN PERCEIVING AND TASTING

Our sense organs are like the most important part of our body(well, every one of our make up is, but, you get what I mean, right?)

Reflecting on this, I've had a time or two when one sense has been dysfunctional especially with the organs of smell and taste in cases of catarrh and cold respectively. It was not an easy time as we all know how reliant and effective to our functionality those are.

Coming to this topic, I enjoy the soothing, aromatic smell of my coffee. It's not on the top list of things I like about coffee or anything. It just excited me sometimes. Notwithstanding, there's just this thing that pleasant smell does to our senses.

Someone made me a cup once and was not generous with the sugar and cream. That was how he liked his, but it wasn't my vibe and I had to do what needed to be done. Whatever it smelled like, I did not care, neither did I notice.

I cannot imagine drinking from a cup which it's content I cannot tell. That's as bland as the word goes. What exactly would be the fun in it? I might as well stick to drinking water. Even water has this characteristic refreshing taste(not literally) that makes it possible to differentiate from a good one.

When I lay my eyes on something edible and nice-looking, my moth waters, not my nose -it does, with pepper involved.

I don't even want to have to pretend like this is a tough choice cause it isn't.

The point is, I made a choice already. I will rather lose the sense of smell than of taste. I can always pretend to myself that my nose is acting up but the tongue? Nope, that's out of it, completely! I could never compromise on anything that would derive me of that pleasure.

It seems almost everyone picked the taste this week, and I can fully agree with such a choice. Nothing beats the flavor of coffee in my opinion either!

I would pick taste over smell too. It's better to savor the rich flavors of your coffee rather than smelling without tasting.
