Noni Madueke has adopted Ashley Cole as mentor in the England under 21 setup

Formal Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has been training Noni Maduake on the back door in the opponent's final third. Noni Madueke has disclosed that he is closely collaborating with a former Chelsea great in order to improve his decisiveness in the final third. The winger scored two goals expertly as England Under-21s defeated Serbia on Thursday night. That was Madueke's first start since the previous international break, mostly due to injury, and even before his quick-fire second-half goals, he was a threat at the City Ground.

Ashley Cole, the assistant coach for England's Under-21 team, has been recognised by Madueke. The Blues icon has given the 21-year-old plenty of insightful counsel, and he's determined to start performing at his peak in both an England and Chelsea jersey. Ashley Cole improves my playing in a really personal way, according to Madueke. Even though I excel in one-on-one situations, I think I could score and dish out more assists, so he's on me for that sort of thing. I'm pleased with my two strong finishes against Serbia, one of which was more on the lines of my typical goals and the other a one-touch finish.

The simpler goals, the one-touch goals, are something I need to add to my game. I'm working on that. I put forth a lot of effort finishing it. I am aware that I move at such a rapid rate that occasionally I must take a moment to collect myself, breathe, and then put something away. Tonight's Under-21 England match against Ukraine aims to make it three victories in a row. Madueke played a significant role in this summer's successful team and is hoping that his time spent travelling with his nation will assist his club season get off to a strong start. I enjoy coming over here to demonstrate my skills to everyone. The team is excellent, just like the last one. I have a strong sense of confidence in my abilities, and I know things will work out sooner rather than later. I believe I have it in me.
