Mudryk: the coach hinted me to chip the keeper and it worked

Mykhailo Mudryk praised the Blues fans for making the game so memorable and shared the message from the Chelsea coaching staff that served as inspiration for his first goal at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal. We would eventually have to settle for a 2-2 draw, but the Ukrainian international scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge when he netted our second to put us two ahead against undefeated Arsenal in the Premier League.

Mykhailo Mudryk has stated that the left-footed looping effort under the crossbar from out wide was not an accident, adding that it was a scenario he had practised on the Cobham training area. The goal was made possible when he caught Gunners goalkeeper David Raya off guard. Mudryk clarified, "It was something in the middle, between a cross and a shot."

Our goalie coach instructed me to watch their keeper before the game because, on occasion, he tries to read things and ends up losing the ball, which gives me an opportunity to chip him. I therefore retained the knowledge in my mind. It was a wise choice for me to go for anything in between the cross and the shot. After scoring his first goal for Chelsea against Fulham earlier in the month, Mudryk now has one at Stamford Bridge, giving the winger two goals in three games. But this one seemed more memorable since the Chelsea fans inside the Bridge were passionately applauding and giving him. In addition to his spectacular second goal, Mykhailo's effort for the Blues was possibly their greatest thus far. His header at goal was touched in the box, allowing Cole Palmer to open the score from the penalty spot.

Being able to experience this occasion with our supporters—especially against Arsenal—was incredible. It was a unique occasion, and I really thank them for their support. "I can share this experience with them, which is why scoring at Stamford Bridge means so much to me. It's unique. This was a nice moment, and I want to have more and more of them. But the late comeback by Arsenal, which kept us from winning the game our performance deserved, somewhat spoiled the occasion. With three wins and a draw from our previous four games, our ability to compete with the league leaders and outplay them for extended stretches of the game is encouraging in and of itself.

We were disappointed to leave the game with just a point. Mauricio Pochettino has helped Mudryk and his teammates advance. The team is currently quite unhappy since there is so much disappointment. I believe we must win this game, but in football, things can happen rapidly, so perhaps we lost focus for ten seconds.

Losing focus might have detrimental effects on you. It only took us ten seconds to lose focus, but football moves quickly. However, we are still in a good mood. We seem to be headed in the right direction. Although we are somewhat sad that this ended in a draw, we must continue striving for victories and going ahead in this manner. We seem to be more confident right now than we were a while ago. The outcomes will materialise if we continue in the correct direction.
