Follow The Tipster - Saturday, 17th June, 2023

Hello again one and all,

It's Saturday once again, and another sweltering day in the heat to come with temperatures in the mid 20's celsius, a bit cooler than recently but not by much. Today we have racing action across eight meetings, with 56 races to consider.

Fast approaching is one of the UK's great racing festivals - Royal Ascot - which commences on 20th June and runs for 5 days. I will be posting extra blogs on this event in due course.

No joy for us yesterday with our sole selection coming home 4th of the 6 runners, which means we've slipped back into a small loss as we start the second half of the month.

3 wins from 9 starts over distances of between 1M and 1M 4F to date. the last of these wins was back in October 2022. Last time out beaten by a short head at Newbury following a 196 day break. Slight step up in trip for this one, but has his regular companion Jim Crowley in the saddle once again.

Cheeky Extra Bet

I'm testing out a new tipping service over the next few weeks, which is likey to be the feature of a new blog series. It did cost me £0.99p for the 28 day trial, and if he continues to hit at the rate he was when he was trialling himself for the tipping service (around 50% strike rate) that fee should be easily recovered.

Yesterday's each-way tip Glorious Mist came in third, and with only 2 places being paid by the bookies, I'm relieved i didn't put anything on this one.

Today, is another day, however, and this tipster goes with Soldat Forte in the 17:40 at Uttoxeter, advising a 1.5pt win bet at 5-4 (2.25 in US odds terms), which I am going with.
