Follow The Tipster - Monday, 19th June, 2023

Hello again one and all,

Monday's here again, and we start the week with six meetings, hosting 43 races between them, with the action getting underway at Lingfield. Yesterday I mentioned that most (33, in fact) of the tipsters in the RP Napster Competition had chosen Doncaster as their battle ground. Of those 33 tipsters, 16 had chosen the same race - 15:50 @ Doncaster - as can be seen from this image from the horseracing.net website (in partuicular the "NAPS" button). As you can see, only 4 got the correct runner as the winner (and at good odds too), although barely. Who would be a professional tipster...lol

No joy for us yesterday with our sole selection coming home 2nd of the 6 runners, 1.5 lengths off the pace.

Tipsters Standings

Jon Freeman climbs back to be joint leader thanks to him backing the winner in that MCE mentioned above, while the pack with 6 winners becomes a pack of 3 with 7 winners this month. Further down the table Jim Delahunt is having a dreadful run with no winners at all this month (and checking the official table for the season is currently on a 32 day losing streak, and has only 3 winners since the competition began).

Returned from a 215 day break, and came home in front of a 10 strong field at Salisbury, 10 days ago for his first win of his short 3 outing career. Making his handicap debut today off a mark of 79, over the same distance as that victory (6f).

Another with only 3 starts under his belt, and a winner first time out in March, on the all-weather track at Kempton this year. Had a brief 65 day break, returning with a third and a second in quick succession (both on turf). Stepping up in trip today to 1m 2f, and back on the polytrack surface.

Cheeky Extra Bet

I'm testing out a new tipping service over the next few weeks, which is likey to be the feature of a new blog series. It did cost me £0.99p for the 28 day trial, and if he continues to hit at the rate he was when he was trialling himself for the tipping service (around 50% strike rate) that fee should be easily recovered.

The losing run continues, and the trend got well and truly bucked with Zettabyte only managing 6th place in a field of 9 runners. No selection from him today, so we wait until tomorrow for our next apttempt.
