Hello again one and all,

The weekend starts here, and its gonna be a scorcher by all accounts. No less than 8 meetings take place around the UK and Ireland today, with 55 races spread the various locations, so once again plenty of opportunities to find those elusive winners.

Recap - Thursday, 16th June, 2023

A winnerand a non-runner for us yesterday, which combined to wipe out our small deficit and leave us at break-even halfway through the month.

Blindedbythelights jumped off steadily, settling into track the leader. Began making headwy to challenge the leader at 4 furlongs from home, pushed on further to take the lead around the 3f marker, ridden hard as a challenge from the second materialised, and, despite edgeing right slightly inside the final furlong, ran on well to end up winning fairly comfortably at the line by a length and three-quarters.

Tipsters Standings

Lee Sobot benefitted from a NR for Jon Freeman this time around, and reclaimed sole occupancy of the top spot, with his 8th winner this month. Again an odds-on , although we got better odds than the SP( another 2-7) which is what his win will be recorded as for the overall tipster competition.

Only win of his starts to date was way back in May last year, narrowly beating the second by a head. Only two runs since either side of a 342 day break, finishing 3rd of 9 on his return at Kempton 23 days ago. Today's jockey also rode him for that sole victory.

Cheeky Extra Bet

I'm testing out a new tipping service over the next few weeks, which is likey to be the feature of a new blog series.

The first tip he provided Magical Maggie we had backed through our regular Follow The Tipster strategy for the 14th June, and came third. As a result didn't have an extra bet on that occassion. For the 15th June, he went with Evenwood Sonofagun who finished 4th of the 10 runners, which I did take on . Both of those picks were 1.5 pt WIN bets

Today, he has tipped Glorious Mist to be an 0.5pt Each-Way shot, initially advised at 7-1, but currently floating at between 5-1 and 6-1 odds. The downside for me of an each-way bet on this tip is with it being only a 5 runner field, the bookies are only paying 2 places. thus I'm reluctant to commit to backing it. That said, I'm still putting it out there as a potential Cheeky Extra Bet.
