Spider - Sculpture (Rimini - Italy)
Description
A few weeks while I was walking along the Torre Pedrera (Italy) seafront I came across this particular sculpture. This work was created entirely with recycled and reused material.
While I was observing the work I had the opportunity to speak with the manager of the art exhibition.
I asked him what the artist wanted to represent.
The manager of the art exhibition explained to me that according to the artist the spider, with its complex and intricate system of webs, can represent a metaphor for understanding the phenomenon of consumerism. From this explanation we also understand the artist's choice to create this work with recycled material.
For the artist, the spider uses its web to represent a system of control over its prey, so consumerism also exercises control over society and people in the same way.
I was so fascinated by this work that I forgot to ask who the artist was. In the end I never saw the manager of the exhibition again and I didn't know who composed this work of art, a work that kept me stuck in front of it for a few minutes.
Request
What do you think of this work of art? What do you think of the meaning of this sculpture?

Ragno - Scultura (Rimini - Italia)
Descrizione

Very weird kind of spider! It looks like a scorpion too! This could be a drone and go everywhere!

I hadn't thought about the drone thing, but it actually seems like it could be a robot and possibly perform some activity, not of an evil nature

I also found this sculpture very beautiful. Initially it immediately attracted my attention, but I didn't understand the message the artist wanted to give. When I focused carefully on the reason why this work was made and why it was made with recycled material I understood that I was in front of a work of art of notable importance

It was made entirely with recycled materials. The artist wanted to compare the spider with the web of consumerism that makes us slaves to the economy

I think it is very interesting. When I saw the pictures that were not close ups, it reminded of Steampunk design. I appreciate the chosen materials, and the way they painted it is really nice. It highlighted the joints, and the contrast really gave it character. The meaning/message is very thoughtful. I can see some sand sculptures, so I guess this is close to the penguin in the sand. It seems the artists in this event really care for the environment and the people.

You understood the situation very well. The exhibition was in fact dedicated to ecology and respect for the environment. The artist who made the spider gave his own contribution with this artistic work made with waste material
