What If Russia Wins?

After the war between Israel and Hamas began, more and more analysts started saying that it is going to affect the Russo-Ukrainian war against Ukraine. This is because the main supporter of Ukraine, the U.S., would have to split its focus and resources to help Israel. After two and a half months, this is becoming clear, as aid packages and weapon deliveries from the European Union are close to stopping. The bill for more funding for Ukraine from the U.S. is also hard to pass in Congress. They might give it, but it will probably be the last one, especially since the elections are approaching, and Biden appears to be losing to Trump. The Head of NATO has already given us a warning or started to indicate that the Ukrainian front will soon face bad news. So, what will happen if Putin and Russia win?

First of all, if Putin wins, it would mean that the U.S. and NATO have lost, dealing a major blow to the morale and image of the previously considered unbeatable West that initially promised victory under any circumstances. Now, don't get me wrong; I am not expecting Ukraine to win, and I am sure the West isn't either. However, their expectation is for Russia to gradually weaken, leading to a Pyrrhic victory where Russia is compelled to the negotiation table, declared a winner, but in reality gaining almost nothing, perhaps only officially maintaining what they acquired in 2014.

If Russia were to completely annex Ukraine or turn it into a puppet state, it would signal that they can achieve victory regardless of international opposition. This is precisely what a dictator seeks—to continue conquering without restraint. Currently, I do not have accurate information on the extent of Russia's vulnerabilities, but it is evident that they are facing challenges. This situation may turn into a battle of attrition, where the longer the conflict persists, the more it could impact Russia's strength and resolve.

If Russia emerges victorious, the next war won't be far off. Putin will likely seek more, and the West may struggle to prevent him, as a defeat could potentially shift the overall sentiment in Europe. It might also prompt the U.S. to reassess its overall involvement in such conflicts.

Putin didn't seek problems. The west created them and dragged Ukraine into a bloody war.

Why?

I'm not a fan... But why? I see many others taking that place instead of him, but curious why anyway.

Russia is going to win no matter how much the US is involved. The numbers tell you Ukraine has no chance on just the number of troops Russia has at their disposal. Ukraine are slowly losing and just cannot maintain the constant losses. Anyone who thought Ukraine had a chance didn't understand what they were up against.

Yes indeed I believe the US thought that too they only want to weaken their army and exhaust their citizens.

Since this war started in 2014 I have tried to remain neutral. It is sad that it has come at such a expense to Ukraine and Russia as this war could have been easily avoided and is unwinnable by either side. Just follow the money to see who the real winner is. I don't believe Putin has his sights on seeking more. He seems to be quite clear in what he wanted all along. I am no fan of his or of the behaviour of NATO through it all.

I think Russia might not be that far from achieving a Pyrrhic victory but it is Ukraine that will be affected the most. The U.S were trying to delay the inevitable all along but now it is clear that they can't anymore.
