WHAT IS LOVE || DAY 12 OF 30 DAYS BLOGGING CHALLENGE

We all have the different ways we show affection to people and things around us. The way we treasure them, see them and react to their presence determines what we have for them.

Today's topic is about what love is, and I have been asking myself, what is the true definition and understanding of love. On giving this a thought I should say:

Love is a range of emotions, in which we express our care for a thing or an individual.

When I say love is a range of emotion it means we all have different ways we react for the sake of love. This reation is different to the people we express it to. This shows love can be of different kinds. For the kinds of love, I will be only talking about 4 kinds of love and if you want to know more, click here.

AGAPE LOVE

Agape love can be described as a sacrficial love, unconditional love and selfless love between individual and in a society.

It is the highest and most important appreciated type of love by some religions. A simple example of such kind of love is that which is found from teachers to students, doctors and nurses to patients.

PHILAUTIA LOVE OR SELF LOVE

As the name above implies, this love is the kind of love that one has for one's self.

Self love is important aspect of love as only those who has compassion of themselves can only care for those around.

EROS OR EROTIC LOVE

This kind of love is a physical love driven by sexual desire and physical attraction.

It is the kind of love seen mostly among married couples. In short, it is a sexual love or aroused (intense) feeling found between physically attracted individuals.

STORGE OR FAMILIAR LOVE

This is a natural form of love based on familiarity.

This kinds of love is the type between a parent and a child. The love flows from parent to children and from their children to parents.

From the four kinds of love we have treated, we have mentioned four different characteristics of love which are:

Love is selfless
Love is self-compassion
Love is intense
Love is Natural
