What to write today? Let's think of something to write about, something that will me 30-60 minutes and get no comments are feedback. What about instead of actually thinking of something to write about and wasting time to research and stuff, let's today see what i can write in 5 minutes. I feel this the correct amount of time to waste writing a post that basically only collects auto votes at this point.

How many folks are actually active on HIVE? It's a falling number, that's for sure. It seems to me that people log in, do their post, click upload and that it's for 24 hours until the next day comes along. When i say people, i mean 2000-3000 people. I dont count upvoting as being active as it's mostly an automatic action and without content, an upvote is worthless.

Every active HIVE user would fit into this room below.

Next time your in a very busy Walmart store, know that there are prob more people in that store right now than active HIVE users. It's a strange thing to compare it with but 3000 is not a big number. We could fit into a big conference room shoulder to shoulder. This is progress?

I have dropped countless idea's and most of them get 1-2 comments at best. Just 3-4 days i released a post titled, Lets make the HIVE's biggest raffle are something like that and i think 1 comment. 1 comment for a club of 35ish "club" members.

Im not having a go at club members but in general, creating and hosting a huge community raffle where 20-50% of the proceeds go to charity should gather more interesting feedback. So whats going on?

Yeah, COVID is shit and is making us all busy but life is life and there's an excuse if you look for one. Are people getting bored with HIVE and all the politics? I think a lot of people have just given up and when something better comes along, they will jump ship. All this backstabbing between JS and HIVE witnesses makes it a very hard place for new people to sign up and an easy place to walk away from.

If you only learnt about HIVE today, would you use it?
When i joined steemit 3 years back, there was a decent silver stacking community and that why i stayed. People were nice to each other, no downvotes, no blacklists, no politics and no censorship on services users could use. I only ever posted within the silver community and SteemSilverGold was my blogging experience. But then witness's started to "improve" things with HF's and it sort of fucked everything. Alot of my fellow stackers decided to call it a day, some hung about but SSG has since fallen apart. SSG produced 3 silver coins from 2017-2019 and sold over 3500 of them at around $25 each. Our 2019 coin selling post was targeted by downvoter's and we were attacked by newsteem in the comments. SSG hosted 4 raffles that did over $11,500 in ticket sales were members gave away over 300 oz's of thier own silver and that's the tip of the iceberg. I've seen SSG members give away 100's of oz's of silver just for a simple comment. Boy, oh boy those days are gone and see is the spirit. I would hate to see all our efforts with SPinvest go the same way........

Look at we have today, fewer users, buggy frontends, tons of dead and half worked on projects and retarded version of what could be.

I joined Steem a few years back and enjoyed the sense of community that was there, you had real people commenting and discussions were often productive. It was still a bit gamey with regards to trying to gain the attention of whales but it had potential. I took a break and started a new account, this one, last year and it had changed but I still felt it was worth sticking to.

Anyway, I looked into Steem again a couple of days ago to see what had changed and was surprised to find out about the HIVE fork etc. I started using Steem again but it was an awful experience. Communities seem to have ruined the tag filter and it was harder to find good, original content that someone had actually taken time to write. It was even harder to have a discussion or to get your own stuff seen.

Unfortunately it seems like it's a similar experience here on HIVE too. It's a shame because there's so much potential but I don't feel it is being fulfilled.

What does the future hold and is it worth trying to sink the hours in to building an account anymore?

Is it still WAAAAAAY easier to find "good" content on HIVE than steem.

Most of the stuff on steem is double posted from (or on) HIVE anyway.

My thoughts are much the same as yours. Downvotes, negativity, and blacklists have made me very disillusioned about Hive. If I was a new user I would have a hard time believing anyone who was telling me that Hive is a good place to be.

Well perhaps it’s because people signed up for an investment fund for the long term? Nota social club? Lot’s of members are very active on leofinance. I haven’t seen this raffle post to be honest. I’m constantly engaging with people in the ctp tribe and they are very active. Many comments and discussions. I do not recognize your view at all.

I totally agree that the culture and the spirit changed a lot during the last 3 years. In the beginning, it was an ideal test laboratory for new projects. Hope interest will come back with some movement in the cryptomarket as a whole. Not sure where this is going longterm...

It is why focusing upon the macro, Hive, is the wrong approach. Ultimately, the success is going to be based upon the different communities that are strong and operate regardless of what Hive does. I look at two games: one successful and one in development. Splinterlands has its own community and keep plugging along in spite of what takes place. EXODE is a game that is off to a very interesting beginning with the development and updates already out.

Someone mentioned Leofinance in the comments. That is where the push needs to be, from the different communities.

Hive is too generic, diverse, and encompassing. Success will come from the groups, such as you mentioned, operating for their own best interest.

Ultimately, the crossover will take place when people start to care about the token for that community as opposed to HIVE.

That is where new people will end up focusing. A community that reaches outside and brings in ardent supporters will find they care about the community with Hive in the background.

I agree with you on this. That is why we acquired Holybread 10 days ago, and have always been active in the gaming community.

Actually gaming and comic/arts are pretty strong communities.

There's just little to write abut at the minute. I feel like i keep trying to push things and nothing is catching. I for sure thought the raffle would have been a good one.

Don't be too disapointed, our club, although it seems we have been working on it forever, is fairly "new."

Things take a while to build. We have a small group of dedicated users. Let's concentrate on that and grow there.

The challenge of the modern social media. If someone doesn't particularly care for the topic or if there are too many words they just simply move on and don't bother. Sure posts can get decent rewards from people dropping a few votes to it but the engagement is in the toilet with some regards.

I don't take it personally though, when I spend a lot of time on a post and don't get any or many comments where I feel like it could. I just keep plugging away and doing what I enjoy doing.

To be fair though, you say your account is a long-term investment instead of a social place. Many will take that literal and just invest in it and don't bother to check on it. Although I tend to check your posts out every few days, I miss a lot of them because there's also lots of other things to read that I may be more interested in. Nothing personal on you or the project but you have to take into consideration if the content is dry or not something to continually read, people will just skip past it.

If you wanted to get the investors attention, tag them in the post if you need a decision or feedback or something. If I invested in it but missed your post, I would prefer to be tagged in something that you felt was important for me to look at. That's just my personal thought but could work for others.

The cycle always ebbs and flows. Keep at it and if you're persistent as you say, you will make it through and the SP Invest group will as well.

A lot of long form posts don't get much attention, so change it up?

I definitely read a lot more posts than I comment on. Sometimes I just don't have much more to add to the conversation.

I think tribes are part of the reason at ctptalk we are an active tribe , but for the most part you are right, I always try and read your post and up vote them if I have enough mania as I get very low some days.

The raffle post with the charity factor was a good idea but unfortunatly you misjudged the platform your on.
Remember the hbi giveaway got plenty of comments (including me)
Noone was busy then all of a sudden we are lmao
Giveaway Good
Asking for shit Bad.
As far as your disillusion with hive and steem goes agree but it is what it is.
Just do a simple post on holdings everyday cut copy and paste that shit together and cut down your work load👊

I've done lots of giveaways, but i dont know what HBI stands for.

You might remember the SSG MONSTER RAFFLES were all donations came from the SSG community. I was hoping that SPinvest club members could provide donations, i guess times have changed and it looks like i have misjudged.

Thanks for checking out the post and dropping some feedback my friend
