SPI Investors Enjoy 14x Increase Since Launch = Compunding at 70% APY 😲🚀🤑🎉

Hello SPIers, today we look at how amazingly SPI tokens have performed over its 5-year life span. We'll be looking mainly at its dollar value and a little at its HIVE value. SPI is a HIVE-based token with HIVE being its reserve currency but we value HIVE in dollars and we're up more in dollars so makes a better post 😉

In total, SPI sold 68,960 tokens for 1 STEEM HIVE each when HIVE was dropping from 20 cents down to 10 cents, we sold the bulk of the SPI tokens when the price was around 17 cents so we raised around $12k worth of HIVE at the time. The remaining tokens were airdroped as a token split where holders received an extra 25% SPI tokens. And then SPI officially hard capped at 100k when we switched from steam-engine to hive-engine.

The HIVE airdrop in 2020 and being able to sell our STEEM turned out to be a massive game-changer for SPI. We went through the madness of 2021 and we just kissed a fund value of $500k before the bubble popped. Today the total fund value is sitting at around $165k which is not bad when we consider HIVE which is our largest holding is still down 90% from when we touched a fund value of $500k.

Over the past 5 years in terms of dollars, SPI tokens have increased 13.75x. Thats a crazy return for 5 years and it just shows the power of crypto + community. Here's something that will blow your mind, 1375% over 5 years is the same as compounding at 70%. What's the rule to work out how long to double your money? Divide by 72? Hmm, I think we broke it, haha.

It's hard to get rich slowly when the token price is increasing at an average rate of 70% per year. But wait, it gets even better because remember, we're at the start of a bullrun baby and the only way is up. In 18 months from now, we'll be worth over $500k easily. If HIVE goes to $1, it's done, $500k fund value in the bag. This would be 3x from today and chances are HIVE will go higher than $1 🤑🚀

In terms of HIVE, today the price of SPI is 5.32 HIVE. Currently, the fund is very HIVE heavy because of a recent trade and this means for the next 15-18 months the SPI token price will be alot more stable than it has been in the past. SPIs HIVE value has increased 5.3x from launch which is like compounding at 39% per year for 5 years.

And people think compounding HBD at 20% is the holy grail of HIVE
