In search of STABLE RETURNS, part 1

(Edited)

SUNDAY will be the day for this series,

basically seeking coins and tokens that have interest bearing features. The short history below starts with such an arrangement I got into called the DAO...

First, a bit of history is in order... I bought ETH on coinbase in June or July of 2016, at $12 USD. I invested that into the DAO (decentralized autonomous organization). It was like a foundation, the charter was basically set up to provide 'seed money' for expanding blockchain and chain based projects. My beloved crypto mentor "Stan" guided me in setting this up. PROPS to Stan! 👍

After about 10 months, I received a very alarming email from Stan. He told me to get my ETH outta there ASAP, there was a deadline and the DAO was likely going to fold. Without any waste of time or questioning, I hurried over and saw what the deal was. The DAO had been "hacked" and (iirc) $30 million was diverted. OK, I got some instructions and proceeded to collect my funds. I had not even checked the price of ETH for perhaps that entire 10 months, So I was hoping for... I had no idea what to expect. I was hoping against a LOSS for sure!

So I looked up Ethereum on goog-iots... I felt sick to my stomach, what a shock! From $12 to $1.84 😱 Wow, I'm glad these jackasses got hacked because they wasted my investment... or so I thought. What had happened was that ETH had split, and ETC was airdropped. I had found ETC pricing, that was all the rage because of the hardfork and airdrop. OK, cool... but what was ETH?
I was overjoyed, as ETH had ran up to $84!!! PLUS, the DAO had generated over a 3% dividend in the process, Triple BONUS!!!
I totalled up everything and while I forget the specifics, I recall marching out of there with around a 600% gain. So I was emboldened to find a new killer investment... But that is another story all together. This is about ETH and in Part Two, I will be looking at ETH 2.0 and what it means in today's markets. Part Three will be about a new and possibly even more exciting coin, XTZ or Tezos. SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!
I currently own enough coins to fully invest into BOTH Platforms, and I am learning the levels and comittments to each. I have the 8000+ "Tezzies" and the 32+ ETH for getting rewards.
/SPOILER ALERT ENDED!

More in Part TWO, ETH 2.0

Exciting! 😁 But that was a lucky win?

More like a LOSS, I should have HODL'ed the ETH or the BTC that I ended up converting to, or something. At least I ended up with all this HIVE 🤣 But now I am eyeballs deep in SPI and it's like owning nearly 2 Hive for each!

If I had held the ETH until $1000 I'd have really made a killing.

Oh yeah :) I got lost in the excitement!
You know what I would really like to see? Ideas about buying and selling plans. I'm nearly reaching my targets for Hive, I have my SPI stake and my other Hive-Engine investments; I have a little Bitcoin ... now I would like to start diversifying and I'm wondering what criteria would be useful for evaluating where to invest; plus what approaches I might want to take towards managing my portfolio including selling plans (not SPI obviously).

I hope to provide data points for exactly that kind of investing!
Please follow along and a re-HIVE would be great too 👍

I also will be throwing in some Crypto.com to the mix, before
I switch gears and go completely to another topic. 💪😎👍
