Hello friends, Happy Wednesday walk, today I want to take you for a walk through the Santiago Mariño square in Turmero, Aragua state, Venezuela, This square is an hour away from where I live, it is in another town and it is not a tour that I do frequently as this week for things of life I had to pass twice on different days I stopped to observe more around and I stayed to rest a while spending a pleasant moment among the locals.

This square is named after a hero of independence who was a general and fought in collaboration with our liberator Simon Bolivar, in the center of the square is located a statue of him standing, without the horse characteristic of other squares. It is surrounded by the church that I found closed, but I could take pictures of its facade and observe that it has many bells and they are at different levels as if there were two bells per floor, in total there are 6 at a glance and around the front, there are sculptures of the virgin, but because of its height, I could not see well.

Hola amigos, feliz miércoles de caminata, el día de hoy quiero llevarte a pasear por la plaza Santiago Mariño en Turmero, estado Aragua, Venezuela, esta plaza queda a una hora de donde vivo, pues está en otra localidad y no es un recorrido que haga frecuente como esta semana por cosas de la vida tuve que pasar dos veces en días diferentes me detuve a observar más a su alrededor y me quede a descansar un rato pasando un momento agradable entre los lugareños.

Esta plaza debe su nombre a un prócer de la independencia que fue general y lucho en colaboración de nuestro libertador Simón Bolívar, en el centro de la plaza está ubicada una estatua de él en pie, sin el caballo característico de otras plazas. Está rodeada por la iglesia que la encontré cerrada, pero pude sacar fotos de su fachada y observe que tiene muchas campanas y están en diferentes niveles, como si estuvieran dos campanas por piso, en total hay 6 a simple vista y en todo el frente hay esculturas de la virgen, pero por su altura no pude ver bien.

On another side there is a building of the mayor's office with colonial architecture and large stairs at the entrance, It is part of the square, but it is far from its center, On the other side there is a popular market, there you can find all kinds of food, vegetables and household items and on the last side there are pharmacies and shoe stores and clothing stores.

The square itself is full of leafy trees that provide plenty of shade and any bench where citizens sit will have shade to rest, Several trees were cut leaving their trunks almost at the root, but some artists made a work of art in the images you can see some hands that I did not find pretty, to be honest, but if they captured my attention for a while, There is also the image of an Indian commemorating the 400th anniversary of Turmero, it is like a giant totem that seems to be an Indian with a shield next to him, I am sure that when they made them it was with some intention to consecrate it and surely they did some ritual when they finished it, all these works that I mention were made with what was left of a tree carved in wood.

En otro lado está un edificio de la alcaldía con una arquitectura colonial y grandes escaleras en su entrada, forma parte de la plaza, pero está lejos de su centro, al otro lado hay un mercado popular, allí se encuentran todo tipo de alimentos, verduras y artículos del hogar y en el último lado hay comercios de farmacias y zapaterías y ropa.

La plaza en sí está llena de árboles frondosos que dan mucha sombra y en cualquier banco donde se sienten los ciudadanos tendrán una sombra para descansar, también hay varios árboles que fueron cortados dejando su tronco casi a raíz, pero que algún artista los tallo hizo una obra de arte en las imágenes puedes ver unas manos que no me parecieron bonitas para ser sincera, pero si captaron mi atención por un rato, también está la imagen de un indio de conmemoración cuando se cumplieron los 400 años de Turmero es como un tótem gigante que pareciera ser un indio con un escudo a su lado, estoy segura de que cuando los hicieron fue con alguna intención de consagrarlo y seguro hicieron algún ritual al terminarlo, todas estas obras que menciono fueron realizadas con lo que quedo de un árbol tallado en madera.

And the one I liked the most is in front of the catholic church and is an image of a man symbolizing Jesus of Nazareth embracing or protecting a child, This last one has the full shape of some people and they are in real size, bigger than me 😂. This square is very well preserved, its floors are granite or marble tiles and it is very clean and well kept, also it is always full of people of all ages, while I was walking around the area several old people called me and asked me what I was doing they thought it was strange that I was taking pictures, maybe they thought I was a foreign tourist ha, ha, ha, ha.

There is also an area with a cement and metal construction that is different, I have no idea what they wanted to do with this work, I imagine that in December they use it to decorate with lights and things allusive to Christmas, In this area of the square is where street vendors of coffee, candy and sweets gather and it is also a part to provide recreation for the little ones of the house with the rental of cars, which one do you like? When I was little they didn't exist and it's a pity because I like them a lot and I like to drive them.

Y el que más me gusto está al frente de la iglesia católica y es una imagen de un hombre que simboliza a Jesús de Nazaret abrazando o protegiendo a un niño, esta última tiene la forma completa de unas personas y están en tamaño real, más grande que yo 😂. Esta plaza está muy bien conservada, sus pisos son de baldosas de granito o mármol y está muy limpia y cuidada, además siempre está llena de personas de todas las edades, mientras caminaba por el área varios ancianos me llamaron y me preguntaron que hacía les pareció extraño que tomara fotografías, tal vez pensaron que era una turista extranjera ja, ja, ja.

También hay una zona con una construcción de cemento y metal que es diferente, no tengo idea de lo que quisieron hacer con esta obra, me imagino que en diciembre la usaran para decorar con luces y cosas alusivas a la navidad, en esta zona de la plaza es donde se reúnen vendedores ambulantes de café, caramelos y dulces y también es una parte para brindar recreación a los pequeños de la casa con el alquiler de carros, ¿Cuál te gusta escoge uno? Cuando fue pequeña no existían y es una lástima porque me gustan bastante y me provoca manejarlos.
