WOO - Risks and Rewards of Investing in P2E Game Assets

avatar

Hi there fellow Hivers and fans of Wrestling Organization Online.

It's @skyehi and for today's special blog about P2E games on Hive such as my favorite, WOO and Splinterlands or even Terracore, we're going to be discussing a really interesting topic that I believe you should be well-versed in before attempting to invest into P2E games especially outside of Hive.

Before we start out I would like to make this point that this is merely my opinion about investing into P2E and if you disagree, I'm totally fine guys and infact I would love to get your opinions in the comments section below.

This whole new world of Play-to-Earn (P2E) games opens up more like a playground for potential investors.

It brings so many investment opportunities to investors and gamers.

These awesome P2E games are built and run on blockchain technology. Take for example Hive's game like WOO. It's designed perfectly well on top of the Hive Blockchain and allows players like myself to earn WOO tokens from playing the game.

These WOO tokens are Hive based tokens that can be swapped for other tokens. So as you play this game, you're actually making real money from it.

These P2E games let players own, trade, and make some money from in-game assets like NFts and game packages.

But here's the sad truth guys, making big bugs is not as easy as you might think. One very interesting thing I see going on online is that most P2E game developers advertise their games to look and sound like the players can earn a lot of money from it. But sadly that's not the case as you play these games.

I made a blog two days ago from the time of writing this post, talking about what it would look like if we could earn decent amount of money monthly that would be big enough to take care of bills just by playing P2E games. Wouldn't that be a wonderful thing?

You see the main reason why people are heavily tempted to invest money into P2E games is the promise of cashing in big time. This I believe is possible and feasible but you should be careful of scammers out there.

It's very possible to turn your virtual game assets, crypto and NFTs into real cash.

Having rare digital gear like characters, land, or special items might bring in some serious money just like the traditional investment markets do. So it's no doubt that investing into P2E games could be very profitable.

One thing I really love about blockchain is how it does a great job of keeping these digital assets rare and exclusive and that makes early investors see some growth in what they put in.

However, the path to succeeding as a P2E investors is not always an easy straight forward one.

The market can become wild and very volatile, making the value of the assets you bought in the game increase or decrease significantly.

This is one of the major risks of investing into P2E games.

Let's take a scenario were you purchase the token of a P2E game or a valuable NFT that can give you great advantage playing the game and after a day or two, the value of that asset you purchased drops heavily. That could be a major loss for you if it doesn't rise again sooner.

However we can also consider the flip side of things. You can purchase a WOO package that maybe costs 10 dollars and in about a week, the same package could be valued at 15 dollars. That would certainly be profits in your pocket.

So I guess that's a risk to consider when investing into P2E games whether in or outside of the Hive Blockchain.

There are always worries or concerns about rules, scams, hackers, and even how these games are run. WOO is a really great platform with an honest vision but I can't say the same for other P2E games outside of the Hive Blockchain.

You could read an advert about how a new P2E game you just discovered could make you some big bucks only to try and after investing your hard earned money, realize that it was all a scam.

This is why I'll always advice that you make sure the game or platform you're investing into is a trustworthy one before making any investing at all.

One downside to P2E games is that they only do well if people are still playing them.

The risk or fear for me is if players get bored or even new, more exciting games get released, the value of the assets you purchased in the old game could go very low instantly.

This is why I love WOO so much because it's built around a concept that I believe may never get old.

It's about wrestling and there are quite a lot of wrestling enthusiasts out there. The vision for WOO is a big one and I trust that players will certainly have a brighter future.

Plus I made a point in one of my previous posts that since Hive stands a high chance of getting more popular, all its P2E games will also get popular including WOO.

However, another downside to P2E games is that, the P2E game world is very new, meaning we don't have much history to predict how safe or profitable these investments really are or will get in the long run.

So my suggestion for anyone thinking about diving into P2E game cash especially outside the Hive Blockchain should definitely do their homework and think carefully about what they invest into.

Understanding how the game works, what the community thinks, and if the project will last are very important things to consider before joining the P2E party.

So as I draw the curtains on today's blog, spreading your cash across different games and gear can help lower the risks though. Staying on top of what's happening in the gaming and crypto worlds is very crucial for making smart moves. And, only put in what you can afford to lose in this ever-changing space.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read today's blog. I hope this blog would be helpful to anyone trying to make a decision to invest into P2E games especially those outside of Hive.

I can soeak for WOO that it's a pretty great P2E game and other games on Hive are pretty good but I may not be able to speak for the others outside of Hive because I have not tried them all.

So guys if you have any question or comment regarding today's blog, please feel free to share them in the comments section and I'll be more than happy to respond.

Oh no, they still haven't but it's closer than ever before. Just final updates and getting a few things sorted and everything gets started.

You would definitely need to join the discord page to have very detailed questions answered and I'll recommend getting the "Booker's License" so that you can earn from playing the Beta Version
