WOO - Exploring the Metaverse: A Glimpse into the Future of Gaming

It's @skyehi and I wanted to ask you a pretty interesting question in the tech and gaming world.

Have you heard of the metaverse?

Well whether you have heard of it or not, I'v got to say it's a really big idea in the tech and gaming world.

The metaverse is like a huge, virtual place where people can be together and do things in a computer world. I believe what the primary intention of the developers of the Metaverse around the world is, is to build a second world in our world.

So in the future we're going to be having two worlds we can interact in, the physical or real world we're in the and virtual world.

You would be able to own assets in the virtual world like you do in the real world.

Now here's why this topic is important in Wrestling Organization Online community.

This Metaverse concept is going to have a really huge impact in the future of gaming, whether Blockchain or non Blockchain games.

We have epic games on Hive like our very own Wrestling Organization Online, Splinterlands, Terracore and Rising Star just to mention a few.

Outside of Hive or the Blockchain world we also have epic games like GTA from Rockstar and Need For Speed from Electronic Arts. All these games will definitely be impacted in a way by the Metaverse.

Let me take the liberty to further explain a little about the Metaverse.

What's the Metaverse?

The metaverse is basically a big, shared computer world where people can talk and do things together. These things would also involve the buying and selling of virtual assets like cryptocurrency and NFTs.

Now we know how Blockchain has done a perfect job of merging crypto or NFT with gaming. The result of that merge are awesome games like the ones you see on Hive.

With the Metaverse, you can go from real life to the computer world and back without any problems. Also in the metaverse, you can play games, hang out with your friends, watch virtual concerts, and even work in a computer office.

Now our main topic about the Metaverse is the gaming part. So guys let's quickly look at how the Metaverse will impact the gaming experience of the future.

Gaming in the Metaverse

One really exciting thing about the metaverse is how it's going to make gaming better. Right now, video games are cool, but you can only play with a few friends, and they're in a way, separate from each other.

In the metaverse, gaming will be even better. You can play games with lots of people, and you can also switch between different games without any breaks.

Your character in the game will stay the same in all the games, and you can earn rewards and cool stuff that have real value. This character staying the same feature is thanks to avatars you can get in the Metaverse. So the avatar technically becomes your identity in the virtual world.

Ever watched that movie, "Ready Player One" released in 2018. That's exactly how the Metaverse will look like with gaming. You'll have a whole avatar as your identity. I'm pretty sure sick and awesome looking avatars will probably cost you more to get.

Now guys imagine playing WOO, Splinterlands or Terracore on Hive through the Metaverse. Everything will be affected by both Virtual and Augmented reality plus you get all the benefits of Hive's Blockchain.

You can still earn crypto tokens which you can trade in the Metaverse.

You wear your Virtual and Augmented reality gear and you enter the WOO gaming. You will see a higher and more real graphics of wrestler NFTs and new features will be part.

Now that's for Blockchain games, the same goes for regular games like GTA.

For instance in GTA, you can literally play the game using your own avatar in the Metaverse instead of the standard gaming characters they bring.

Also imagine playing a game where you can fight dragons and then, without stopping, you can watch a movie with your friends, and then later on you can meet up with other gamers to talk about your favorite games, the missions you have completed and the assets you have acquired or even which level you're on.

You can do a lot of things in the metaverse, and it's going to be amazing, trust me guys.

Different Experiences Together

The metaverse will no doubt change how we play games and do other things. You can jump from one thing to another without any problems. You also no longer have to worry about which device or platform you're using.

We always have issues with game compatibility or whether it's Xbox one or PS5. It wouldn't be that way in the Metaverse.

Everyone can join in and have fun. The metaverse can solve the problem of some people not being able to play games because they have the wrong equipment.

In the metaverse, everyone can join and that makes gaming better for all kinds of people.

The Challenges We Could Face

Now guys, even though the metaverse is exciting and has great advantages, there are some problems and things to think about.

We would need to be extra careful about privacy, safety, and how we act in the metaverse. Also, some people might spend too much time there, and that's not good. It could greatly affect their real life as they neglect real life for the virtual life.

We also need to figure out who owns what in the metaverse and how to protect things like music and art. Since companies are involved in building the Metaverse, there may have some level of authority.

I believe this may be the time where Hive will be even more important than ever. We would still need the value of Blockchain and Decentralization.

To draw the curtains on today's blog, the metaverse is a big idea that's going to change gaming a lot. It will make games more fun, social and connected.

The merge between Blockchain based games and the Metaverse will certainly be an interesting one that will pave the way for very new and awesome concepts I believe.

But guys, we really need to be careful about some problems, like privacy and addiction. The metaverse is more like a new world waiting to be explored, and it's going to change how we play and have fun.

The future of gaming is in the metaverse and is in Blockchain, and we're just getting started.
