When the falls our community becomes flooded in some areas. The running water, navigating its way through the ground, causes gully erosion in our areas. The gully damages our road. The rain brings us Blessings and at the same time causes damages.

The Blessings Of The Rain

Our farming season comes alive when the rain returns. We have joy in our hearts that very soon we will have crops from the farm to eat. Most of the crops like vegetables are quickly harvested because there produce immediately after they grow. Those are the leafy vegetables which we use in cooking.

Another blessing of the rain is that it ushers in cold weather. Cold weather has been highly anticipated for some time now. That is because of the adverse effects of the dry season. The peak of the dry season gave us excessive heat.

The blessing of the rain also includes the availability of water. Water in the rural areas in Nigeria is sometimes difficult to come by. So, the presence of the rain gives a sigh of relief to the rural dwellers.

Damages Caused By The Rain

Because of poor infrastructural development, the coming of the rain usually caused erosion and flood. Most people living in those areas used to suffer a great deal. There are people who have deserted their houses because of floods. Running water that usually flows when the rain falls causes gully erosion to our road.
