In my native proverbs they say: To be a man is not a day job. This means that it is not taking care of a household. Taking care of a family seems to be the sole responsibility of the father. But that is not altogether true because some women also work to cater for their household. There are cases where the woman is the sole provider for the family.

Some men won't like this but it is true. A man has been practicing as a professional printer and publisher. The wife is a matron nurse in the teaching hospital. The house that the family owns is the wife who built it. It is the madam who bought the car the family is using. To make things worse, the man has been so irresponsible that he would be carelessly mismanaging the money clients give him for printing work and the wife is usually the one who stands in the cover up for the mess. Mess an irresponsible man.

There are really responsible fathers. Those who give in all to ensure that their children are catered for. They might not have much but they are not lazy. Some are working as daily labourers to sponsor the education of their children. Many of them wouldn't mind working for those who are young enough to be their grandchildren if only that will put food on their tables. These are fathers to emulate.

Sometimes worries about the home could grip them. Then you could see them sitting at one corner thinking. They are thinking about their wives and children. They are thinking about unpaid bills before. May God assist our fathers.
